Do you just use the joystick?

I was quite excited about using a HOTAS but just spent my time oscillating up and down!

OP might want to bear this in mind if he expects a HOTAS to be of use.
When I had an x52 I used it in PR fine. I even had the close throttle bump as 0% throttle then pull back more for reverse. Not sure why you are having issues.

One thing you need to make sure is, the little slider near the throttle the one with the silver slider. That needs to be set in the middle or it will give out a constant key press and mess up the throttle.

I used a BF2 X52 profile and modified it for PR. Jets Choppers and Attack choppers. I even had some of the HAT switches set to type out normal responses to CAS requests and supply drops.

Heres the base profile I used and modded slightly. Don't have the stick or profile any more.

@OP: That's a great deal from Maplin.

Why did nobody so far mention the upcoming EPIC X-55 RHINO ??? :D

THAT's the one I'll get, even though my Logitech 3D Pro still works fine... that tiny tiny throttle, no thx xD RHINO FTW, DOUBLE THROTTLE power for TWO engines!! :D (I know, not in PR, but in hardcore sims like DCS FC3 etc. :) )

Yes. I'm using that joystick myself, works perfectly fine for both jets and helicopters in PR. You really don't need anything more fancy than that for PR.

i DO have a price limit of ?15, so i am restricted to Ebay etc.

It's almost like people suggesting $200 joysticks can't read the original post.

There's really no need to turn this thread into a Saitek X-52 and X-55 discussion post seeing as he cannot afford either.

A lot of cheap 3D Pro joysticks here.
