At least in our army there are very strict rules and punishments if you loose your rifle. I can imagine it is the same in other armies. So this i actually like.
They punish you when you die and someone steals your rifle? harsh. But yeah I agree with the picking up some other conventional forces kit, when theoretically you are trained with your own.PlaynCool wrote:At least in our army there are very strict rules and punishments if you loose your rifle. I think he meant you'll catch hell if your unit came back to base and there's you showing of your nice new shiny AK, leaving your M16 in the fieldjax wrote:They punish you when you die and someone steals your rifle? harsh. because of the gay-*** rally system currently in place.?.?.curahee150 wrote:Anderson what makes you think every time, the person that picks up an enemy kit is going to be in a firefight?

ur telling me in the heat of a firefight ur going to pick up body armor, helmet and weapon of a fallen enemy who most likely died from getting shot or blown the fuck up? you know what explosions and bullets do to body armor, helmets and weapons....yeah u guessed it...it gets ruined. can bf2 engine simulate this.....no. so devs try to remedy this as best they can. are there cases where body armor, helmets and weapons dont get destroyed but the person wearing them does....of course.
u want a whole bunch of brits running around with ak's setting grande traps and ieds?.?. and on AAS think of dorve winter....jesus...what a cluster fuck that would be if you could pick up and keep enemy kits.
Because when you are wounded you strip your clothes, body armour, helmet and rifle and put it all in a neat pilecurahee150 wrote:By that logic then you shouldn't be able to pick up your own it after being revived.
...what?Prevtzer wrote:Because when you are wounded you strip your clothes, body armour, helmet and rifle and put it all in a neat pile
It's a BF2 thing.
curahee150 wrote:...what?

yep! if pr was mine to mold their would be no revives, only healing the wounded but pr gives a little and takes a little. if pr was able to make the game where when u picked up an enemy's weapon and only the weapon then i would be fine with that....but the reality of the game is that it doesn't and out of all the possibilities their are in regards to picking up enemy's kits the one currently in place is by far the best option you insurgency hate'n scope whores...lol.curahee150 wrote:By that logic then you shouldn't be able to pick up your own kit after being revived due to your clothes, body armor, and your weapons being ruined, especially after you get a 1,000kg bomb dropped on your head or get shot by a tank.
lol....if it's so easy man im sure u could share with us and the devs a sample of this in action? a video of ur work... maybe u could be an r-con someday.Roque_THE_GAMER wrote:that's simple, remove the kit geometry (helmet and shit) from the kit and give only the weapons and stuff
sure, teach me how to use 3Dmax and BF2 editor and i do it!Anderson29 wrote:lol....if it's so easy man im sure u could share with us and the devs a sample of this in action? a video of ur work... maybe u could be an r-con someday.
it doesn't take very long to pick up a gun/ammo.X-Alt wrote:Would there be a way to implement it server side so they could choose? Sort of like rcon onefaction, but only for Rifleman, Breacher, similar kits, etc.. Looting all kits is possible in the heat of battle thanks to the BF2 engine, and I steal friendly or enemy kits when out of ammo\rushed all the time.
The armor tho, BF2 kit geometries are stupid. If you model them on the character, you lose certain abilities, like the pilot helmet, medic bag mount, etc..curahee150 wrote:it doesn't take very long to pick up a gun/ammo.
