.9-.98 was perfection? Hell naw. I still miss the specops kit, pre .75 was the shit imo.
I think the post just speaks that you are a bit tired of putting in effort. I know it because sometimes it is the same with me. But you could also open a squad and lead a public squad which works 90% of the time, for me.Spook wrote:Same here. After so many years I guess its normal. I just get frustrated within first 15mins and rage quit because usually gameplay is shit nowadays. Not much server variety left due to the 100p servers, and from those that are still up NEW is the only server worth playing. Every other server lost tremendous amounts of quality compared to a year ago, its not even funny.
"Clans" lost most of their people. NwA, SRF, QRF, KIA, ODS (rarely see you guys filling a squad), Heroes, TP, FH, ITW/PR.IT, IDF, WST, 3dac (still pretty active, but has seen better times). All of them had like between 15-40 active people each, 1-2 years ago. Now some of them are basically non-existent anymore and you are lucky If you catch a member ingame. All of them were really good guys.
Imo main reason are the main 1.0 gameplay changes. They were adapted to make it more public-friendly and killed the roots of the community. Just as alot of people predicted before the release. You are more effctive playing alone or with 2 or max 3 guys now. I personally stopped playing in big organized squads regulary a couple of months after 1.0 release. Nowadays I often join a server, search for a trans squad, get in, grab an engi or breacher and go FOB and noob hunting. Thats the only thing left to do to have some kind of adrenalin kick. Or I do CAS or fly trans. I never did CAS pre 1.0, because INF was too awesome.
All of my fellow veteran friends from other clans without exceptions share my opinion. Right now its almost only publics holding PR together. Exactly what 1.0 tried to accomplish. Whether its stable or not seems to not be of any interest.
.
Exactemente. It works. And it doesnt really take that much effort. Vets are just too easily frustrated these days I guess.Don't wait for someone else to step up and start the teamwork. Like Nugiman said, start your own squad and use good comm discipline with other squads and try to get something going.

That is so much bullshit. PR Never had that amount of players.obpmgmua wrote:The problem with pubbies is we need them to repopulate the PR community. I still remember when .5 was new, there were 100+ 64 man servers filled to the brim with people, after release it dropped to like a dozen or so servers being full up until .6 was released. And then with every new release less servers and less people overall.
I don't like NEW; everytime I get there, there are only locked and clan-stacked squads. You can barely play if you are a pub, I don't like this attitide. Plus, it's a german server and they mostly speak german for obvious reasons.Spook wrote:Same here. After so many years I guess its normal. So, you don't promote teamwork anymore and yet keeps complaining about how PR sucks now.Spook wrote:I personally stopped playing in big organized squads regulary a couple of months after 1.0 release. Interesting.
^This.Spook wrote:As said I lost motivation trying to play tactical and in a team on public servers after the first months of 1.0 . A direct consquence of PRs mindchange with the last patches. I have more fun and actually provide more to my team If I stray through the map on my own, ninja'ing FOBs and make 8 men squads realize why its a bad idea to not use fireteams.
Only on servers with a lot of clan squads I am willing to do normal INF and maybe even squadlead. Those servers which you try to avoid. Every other place is just nuts. There is only a handful of non-claners I know who really know what they are doing and are able to play properly. And most of them are ex-claners. Clans train publics and keep them ingame. They are the key element of PR. Not other game depends on them as much as PR.
What you call dictating is in fact what the Vets refer as team-play, a squad leader telling you what to do is usually accompany with what he's going to do and many times the success of one depends on the other.HunterMed wrote:I'd wish for Clans to play together obviously but leaving out that superion feeling. Always locking squads and dictating other squads around without even being CO.
I've yet to see that a Clan squad is holding a team together and not dividing it by most of the time doing specops missions or attacking (your adrenaline point I suppose) when it is obvious that defending is what needed.
Public squads hold together gameplay not clans in my opinion.
New is a German server, with German admins and German players that speak English just because you joined their squad and said "Hello there", I don't speak German yet I never had problems there.Death! wrote:I don't like NEW; everytime I get there, there are only locked and clan-stacked squads. Interesting.
I only have a problem when one Sl tells another Sl what to do only because one of them has clan tags. I've seen often enough that clans dont know better than other SLs usually.O_turista_portugues wrote:What you call dictating is in fact what the Vets refer as team-play, a squad leader telling you what to do is usually accompany with what he's going to do and many times the success of one depends on the other.

The clan-stacked squads, like Spook said, New is one of the few servers were its fun to play, why?, cause clans gather there and "dictating other squads" is seen as a positive thing, it means squads are talking to each other.
And usually clans are stacked but balanced
advice is fine I guess. Although everybody should really think carefully about their advice.Spook wrote:Its more like advices than orders...ofc If I as a SL see another full squad derping around the fuck who knows where for 20min already, I would also tell them to move their damn asses. There is only one guy I know of who exagerates a little and actually does commanding from SL position which is quite annoying I agree (people who know him will know who I mean)
But otherwise I almost never have situations when squads tell squads what to do and are not totally right about it.
Sadly there are even only few servers where SLs would even bother about what the other squads are doing. Its a good thing and essential if squadleaders keep their team together when there is no CO available. Sometimes its just necessary to tell people what to do if they don't know better.
