Thermal sights would roxor your boxor's on the jungle maps.
Yeah, and "Where's my batman?: over!"KP wrote:Oooh... And some new lines. The Brit officers shouldn't say "go go go", they should shout "tally ho!"
28 days minimum in a zone of conflict: nice easy job chasing "local totty" & hob-nobbing with papa's chums will see the shiny medallions pinned to their chests.ClaudioPolez wrote:The not going to anywhere remotely dangerous like Iraq or Afghanistan or even Romford town centre on a Saturday night, will defo NOT stop them both getting a massive chest full of medals and promotions galore. Politics eh?
Back on topic, I reckon the officers should be getting personal protection weapons of some sort or standard assault rifles and lots of support gadgets, like binos, target designators, coloured smoke etc. After all I'd have thought their major role is direct others and not to directly engage the enemy.

Any gun can shoot around corners, aiming is another thing though.Bodybag2224 wrote:How about that gun they have that can shoot around corners. Man that would make the person that got killed pissed.I know it won't happen but man that would totally mess up the balance.

I think I started the slide to GB stereotyping.Xizor wrote:How about people stop using the excuse of a new kit to start acting out their every weapon fantasies? Officers are no more armed than your basic grunt, they're by no means snipers. They're the ones who ride at the heart of the convoy and direct orders. Their rifle is for their own defence, they're not killing machines. They generally carry a sidearm too, and are unlikely to carry specialist equipment such as explosives, if we're talking about infantry officers.
And please, stop with the British stereotyping. It really isn't funny. That's like me saying the American officer should say "I'M GONNA' POP A CAP IN YO' ***" instead of "Go, go, go!", because well, all the Americans we see on TV say that.
Easy there. We were just kidding around. No offense, it's not meant in a bad way.Xizor wrote:How about people stop using the excuse of a new kit to start acting out their every weapon fantasies? Yeah, sorry to go off on one, it's just people do like to stereotype us British with the same jokes every time!KP wrote:Easy there. We were just kidding around. No offense, it's not meant in a bad way.
PS: Some guy (tank commander, I believe) actually shouted "tally ho!" when charging ahead during Desert Storm...![]()
The problem with corner shot is that its pretty much already obsilete as no western military will invest in it because they already have thier "Future Soldier" plans well on the way to completion (FIST, FELIN, Land Warrior, etc) which can do more or less everything that corner shot does but with out having to buy compeletly new weapons.Bodybag2224 wrote:No, its this gun I was looking at on FutureWeapons, it could turn 90degrees and had a little TV that you could look at since the little camera was mounted on the part of the gun that pivots. It would make combat safer for the troops in urban combat.

It's already been done anyway...... 60 years ago by the Germans:Bob_Marley wrote:The problem with corner shot is that its pretty much already obsilete as no western military will invest in it because they already have thier "Future Soldier" plans well on the way to completion (FIST, FELIN, Land Warrior, etc) which can do more or less everything that corner shot does but with out having to buy compeletly new weapons.
Ah, bendy barrels on Stg.44s! I also believe there is a modification of the M3A1 grease gun that is similar..:iGi:. Eggenberg4Ever wrote:It's already been done anyway...... 60 years ago by the Germans:

No offense but why do we have the minimap then?'[R-MOD wrote:A.J.Sawyer']LR300 is not a standard issue rifle, and as such would not fit in with the realism themes of the Mod.
So off-topic its not even funny.JohnDoeGamer wrote:No offense but why do we have the minimap then?
