I heard about it from Dukemiester.
I returned to BF2 nilla once when my PR file were messed up for a while, heh didnt want to get rusty. Love the Mod and most of the people. Since .4 i feel i see less teamplay and more USMC spec opps. That aint a goodun

. Enjoying the tourney, when people turn up (friends and foe) and stick to the agreements/plans.
V-Nilla Field Notes:
I look down on
Nilla players as some kind of unevoled man. They sit around all day smashing each other over the head with bones and over using granade rounds,C4, M4 and anything else thats is overpowered. I sometimes try to teach them some basic skills like pressing the voip button, in
a step towards teamplay. Sometimes i take them for rides in viechles and show them that its ot just about the most points. Their langue is basic and mainly is based around the few words of 'L337', 'N00B','PWNED' and 'HAXOR FAG'. The 'unlock' for the 'Nilla man' is like shiney objects to a magpie. They tend to gather them and stare at them, using them as signs of prestige and status. Their society has some rough structure.
'Tank Whore'
'Seat switchers'(switching from polit to gunner seat in choppers)
'Dolphin divers'
'Jihad-jeepers'
'Support granade spammers'
'Diving special forces'
'diving support'
'L337 snipxor' (1 of 1000000 bad snipers)
'GL spammer'
'Pilots' (These are especaily hatted by the Tank whorse as it is the most effective in stopping their armoured strumpetry.)
'Haxorer' (one who is accused of hacking. This may be an accurate accusation or the player may be good at the game. either way, it usualy results in the player being kicked)
Please donate just $2 a month and you could help a V-nilla player in need.

I was really yearning for a realism mod for BF2. I tried 0.1 and didn't like it at all.
I tried 0.2 and liked it, but was really annoyed at the lack of custom maps and started to look into how to make more maps work with AAS. By the time 0.2 rev1 was released I had joined the dev team and was working on a map pack, which eventually rolled into PRMM v0.25.
I think PRMM v0.3x was the best release in terms of game play and v0.4 was the best release in terms of new content and maps. With the next release we should have things tweaked to get some better game play dynamics back.

Clan mate was checking out all the BF2 mods. He said to try PR.
So, I downloaded it. First map I ever played was muttrah city. It was an insane game. I fell in love with the mod and the map.

I had a dream one night, the words PRMM in big letters came to me from a mysterious stranger. That morning I woke up and searched on the net to find this excellent mod.
But seriously, I can't remember that far back.

To be honest I've no idea how I found out about it.
I only remember that the first few time I played, I got killed so easily it was ridiculous, also the bleeding thing had me spinning around looking for who was shooting at me

.
I'd go charging around and get killed every 2 seconds and not being the sharpest knife in the knife drawer it took me a while to just chill out, hunker down and look around me rather than just running about pell mell.
I love this mod, I love that when you shoot someone it counts I love the teamplay, I love the manners (people saying thanks and sorry), I love the lack of rambos. I've played VBF2 for the sum total of 1 minute since I got PR and I hated it, it's half the game that PR is.
So well done to everyone who makes this mod, hope santa brings you something groovy!

I was vaguely aware of it existing for a while, then saw some screenshots or info or something on the bfeditor forums. Tried it (version 0.25) and to my surprise, loved it. I'm not normally the sort of gamer to like realism games. About a week later, saw eggman advertising for coders, and applied. Joined just in time to help with the last parts of 0.3 (including a lot of bugfixing :S ).

My squad was playing JO Reality and moved to VBF2. The VB2 was getting prety darn old so I looked up "reality mod" via google to see if the "Brutal Arts" gang had done any work on vBF2. They had made a small release of "spv5" which was'nt what I hoped for, but in stumbled across PRMM and gave it a whirl (.2_). It was'nt long until Neo, Slick, and I were convinced that this MOD was where we were going to call home for a while.
Thats it in a nutshell...

Tried the 0.3 version after seeing it on TBF2, hated it. Everyone was running around as Support or Sniper. You know PR would've been way more popular in the early stages if they got the kit limiting in real early. I think that's what pissed most people off. When i saw that 0.4 would have kit limiting i tried it again and the game is much better. Something so small made such an impact. It's great.

God that was a long time ago...
Started out by playing BF1 with Desert combat Mod at a friends place. But as my computer specs at the time where way down, it just stayed a fond memory.
When I discovered that BF2 was planed, I pre-ordered it ( first time in my life I did that ) just in order to find back the sensations I had had with the Desert combat Mod ... it was nice but things stared to get stail pretty quickly.
Waited around for DC2 and BF2 Pirates to come out ... which I'm not even sure has happened yet.
Stumbled into this mini-mod tried it out just for the heck of it (more by boredom then anything else) ... and had the most intense battles ever (and that was with 1vs1 or 2vs2 ), I don't remember the servers name but it was a norwegian one. But what stole my heart was the sense of community in it.
So thanks again to Drygar, who kindly took the time to explain the game play changes to this poor NoOb.
Oh and the tournement also made a difference, I discovered PRmm late in January just before C1, and haven't had time for any other Video game since
So Chears to the Community

I found PR i think either from solodude23 or from desperately searching for a realism mod for the new 'bf2' game, that was supposed to come out in january, but got delayed untill like september or whatever.
I think i joined these forums in 2004... ive been watching (and beta testing a bit) pr basically since the website went up. Solo and i knew that Desert combat realism was dying, and when it finally did die, we needed another realism outlet for the bf games.

I think I saw through TotalBF2 - it was version 0.2 at that time.
Tried it - didnt like it much.
vBF2 got too retarded to play.
Uninstalled vBF2
0.3 came - got my hopes up
Installed vBF2 again to play PR 0.3
- This was what I had been waiting for
