I went in to the game, updated and no black screen, cool beans.

Yes I had that - if game and monitor resolution aren't the same black screen after intro, as the intro doesn't use the set game resolution settings.

Happy it sorted you out.

Playing in Window Mode fixed the issue.
However still does not explain why pre v1.2.1.0 I could play fullscreen and never had any issues for months, and now post v1.2.1.0 I am forced to play in Window Mode?

Basically, give the PRLauncher.exe and PRBF2.exe files an exception rule in your AV software.
