If that were the case then cap radiuses would need to be made larger to include viable defensive positions. That way defenders could hold a flag without sticking them selves in 1 or 2 obvious positions that could just have grenades thrown in it every time.

Example-
In DC on basra's edge, the Crash Site flag radius(under the new instant system) would need to cover not only the little area by the plane but the buildings around it.

yeah of course. it should be increased no matter if it's the old or the new system.

But think about how unplayable the game would become if you had to wait two minutes after you get teamkilled, or accidently suicided. That would severely and effectively make people stop playing because of the sheer anger and irritation over having to wait that long. And two minutes is a LONG time, try taking a watch and sit still and do nothing for two minutes, it's a lot longer than you'd think. And if a while squad was wiped with a grenade, the game would be over, since the enemy could easy capture all flags in that time.

a: spawn times should be closer to one minute than to 2 minutes.
b: spawn times for gettink tked and for accidental suicide should be shorter if possible.

One thing I have learned that is very helpful, when piloting a chopper and where on water, as a squad leader, many times i'll fly very low and head to a enemy spawn near the water, then about 150-200 ft from the shore, have your team bail out over the water, for the most part, the water will hardly hurt you when you bail , and of course I have to bail out along with my team, what usually happens is your chopper will continue on for awhile buzzing around the sky, and many times will draw the enemies attention for awhile, allowing your team to swim ashore, and giving your squad the element of surprise, not to mention, it's just kinda fun.

haha, yeah its pretty funny how the choppers keep spinning for minutes until they finally hit something. i don't think that's realistic.

Its not get into a chopper and fly to a decent height then let go of the mose and keyboard and the heli behaves very differently to when you jump out of it! If your still in it it begins to plumet to the ground!

OK the other day i was flying to low to a tank and got shot out of the pilots seat (after hitting the tank 3 times with rockets...?) and my chopper rose and began spinning, perfectly upright in the air going up quickly and spinning, i can understand spinning...into the ground, but not still going up!!!

yeah, it's crazy. if you release the throttle (e.g. you're dead) you'd expect the thing to go down, not up.

Ever seen Black Hawk Down? It's one of my favorite movies. You'll remember the scene where a rocket is fired at a Black Hawk helicopter's tail. As it hits, the tail bursts into flames and the chopper circles into the ground (NOT exploding on impact, like in BF2).

I'd like something like that - points of damage (if the chopper is hit in a certain spot, it reacts in a certain way).

Mike,i totally agree,if a chopper is hit it should spiral to the ground in a smokey firey blaze. With the possibility of survivors,I hate crashing to the ground in a blackhawk from 20 feet up and dieing immediately.

Also speaking of squad tactics, what about having the abiliy for squad leaders to issue formation commands, such as in line,or spread out,or stuff like that.

i use a joystick, so i avoid the mouse thing.

Agreed, I hate it when you go to land your chopper, you catch your tail on something, then all of sudden your chopper explodes, cant stand it... PR really needs to code in damage like that. Imagine sitting in a chopper looking out the door, all of a sudden seeing a SAM come up and strike your tail and being spun around as your descend to the groud, also when you hit, dont make it so you can just pop up and start shotting, like with Artillery, etc. make your screen go blurry for awhile, and make it so your cant run for awhile.

The only thing I change is the mouse inversion, so down is up and up is down when in a chopper or jet. Other than that, I simply played in a helicopter so much I got used to it. I'd recommend to anyone that has one to use a joystick, though.

before you can use a key that's currently used by another function you must first 'free' the key by choosing another key for the function it currently does. so in your case you have to chose another key for tilting the chopper before you can use the mouse axis 0 for turning.
