'[R-DEV wrote:eggman']Not too many SF operators carry MP5s anymore. And very few use suppressed weapons afaik
Actually, most Special Forces Operators, cross faction, at least train with suppressed weapons and to my knowledge have 2 months of training soley focesed on covert operations (Some varry, but from my understanding it's very rare to find a special operations group train on this topic for any less time. More elite groups will spend up to 5 months training on remaining undetected in hostile regions.
The MP5 series is a good example weapons which is pretty round-the-table used by international special operations forces. Either an MP5 A series with an attatched suppressor (US uses SOCOM suppressors) while the INTEGRATED suppressor of the MP5-SD series weapons offer more sound protection.
In addition, special forces operators have been known to use modified M4 rifles which include integrated suppressors. The difference between attatched and integral is a world apart. Attatched suppressors can remain fairly loud but not as echoed and distant as open gassed fire. Integral suppressors keep the sound minimal, often to the casing (if using subsonic rounds) which is OFTEN why these modified M4 rifles also are modified for 9mm rounds. No crack, only zip.
I would like to see the integrated M4 as the infiltration based weapon for the SpecOps kit which would be limited. Other factions would use the MP5-SD series, hopefully SD6 for the specifically cooler look of the retractable stock. Nobody likes a fixed stock... except SWAT, haha.

Does the military use any forms of the SCAR? I love that gun, and would love to see it in this game...............................If it fits in with reality

Today, the unique utility for the Spec Ops kit is the Parachute, but I think in a sound supressor to aprimorate the utility of Spec Ops Kit.
Please, put a sound supressor at the Spec Ops main gun, like "Armed Assault". If the Spec Ops haven't a stealth equipment, how can I play hiden and stealth with my Spec Ops kit? In my first shoot I will be reconized
PS.: Sorry my bad english... I'm from Brazil and I speak a litle bit of english
I like it....once he is limited.
And spec foce only get parachutes once they have entered the passsenger seat of a air viechle?

I did have a thread about making spec ops a limited kit. Some good ideas in it too.

Oh yeah, and the SCAR is in trhe game.
There is one slight problem though. It seems to only be on the Street map, used by the Insurgent MERC. What the real problem is that no one plays any of the UK force levels because.......no one knows, not even themselves.
Every now and then you might get to play ghost train.

Yes that is an example of the "Suggested build" of the M4 and it's stanard accessories. This includes the "Attatched" method of suppression.

This is what I was describing as an integral modification.

Once question about the M4 since I haven't seen it answered, will the ROF be decreased, because it is still annoying that they can get in 15 shots before your two. My caln was scrimming, and Alpha Squad was sending 30 rounds in our direction before we could turn around.

I absolutely hate suppressed weapons, especially in games that are supposed to represent a combined arms battle. I wanna hear some gunfire!

I thought that silencers kept or improved the accuracy, but limited the dammage that the slug does to the enemy. Which is right??
suppressors dont increase or decrease accuracy, they also have to use subsonic ammuntion so you dont get a sonic "crack" when it passes through the sound barrier

And the MP5 is no more than a rapid fire pistol. It's weak, it fires 9mm rounds and is inaccurate.
and heres a mp5 with a "screwed on suppressor"

and theres a site that apperently mounted a reflex one(scroll down)

MP5 inaccurate?
It's widely regarded as one of the most accurate guns about, why do you think they are used so much.

I think I remember hearing/reading special forces favour it in confined areas due to its relatively low round velocity, ensuring rounds dont come through the target and hit friendlies, either directly or through ricochet.

yes but it is still known to be extremely accurate.

your not supposed to use subsonic ammunition with the MP5SD

Suppressors slow down the velocity of ammunition in general. That's why you can usually tell if there's been suppressors used.... if there's no exit wounds.

Dont the MP5 have almost no recoil?
Well at least that would be correct. UNLIKE the M4 in all its long range accurate, close range efficent, high rate of fire, low recoil, fully auto, red dotted glory. If the M4 gets a silencer, i wanna see it worse in most aspects than the M16.
Say, talking of subsonic firearms, wouldnt it be nice if the MEC got a vinterez as their marksman weapon? And us the SVD as a sniper weapon, but up the recoil by loads and up the zoom.

I think Vintorez wouldn't be a good choice since the MEC use german weapons like G3 and so on. I think an MSG 90 would be a better choice . The fact that the MSG90 is unsuppressed (I thing it's possible to suppress it) is compensated with its 20rounds mag. IMO we'd have good balance between the USMC's and the MEC's DMR.

Not really. THe SVD runs circles around the competition as far as DMR goes. The higher damage output makes it vastly superior from a sniper point of view.

It should be SF pistol which is suppressed if anything, however supression is -not- standard issue on SF loadouts. IRL.
A sniper kit on urban maps is a good partner to a SF squad. Thats all the suppression we need i think.
