Yeah, good job, but is it real LEGAL copy of BF2? How can you tell? There's no way to determine.

I was looking around on shops with games in my region, some still have BF2 Complete Collection. Bought one.

There's a big chance that you've bought a pirated copy.

No, no, i bought mine back in 2008 or so, and the shop is a very popular one at that, i've yet to see someone make a post about buying a pirated copy from it.

My gosh, dude, and how is that supposed to be connected with the fact that it's not availible NOW in 2015?

How can a shop have a PIRATED copy. Like in a physical pirated copy? How can you pirate it? You dont seem to understand what pirated means. It means that you download the data illegaly somewhere, for example on the piratebay. If a shop still owns a copy - which is still most likley sealed it cant be a pirated copy. They just have a stock somewhere they want to get rid off...

Game hasn't been printed since 2010. And I was talking about CD-Keys no disks, Kirrim, for some reason, decided to mention his 2008 experience(2 years after release).

And ONCE AGAIN. Even if you bought it in a shop, there's no way, absolutely no way, you can determine is it legal or not, because there's no authentication service available.

If you buy it from amazon as download you can be sure its a legit copy, as if amazon would sell you stolen (or generated) cd-keys... If you buy it used on ebay, as in buying a used physical copy, you can be sure that this is a legit copy, when you get the printed manual etc with it. You cant just prevent that the owner before you still has a copy of the cd key or is his cd key is banned for hacking etc.

Ofcourse if you but it from a dubios source on the internet, maybe some shanky cd-key site, you cant be certain you are not getting scammed.

I am just asking myself, what are you trying to prove with this? Are you trying to justify pirating BF2? It may be okay within YOUR morals but still not legal. The IP still belongs to EA, therfore EA has the right to sell it. If they decide to stop selling it (and other sites are out of copies in stock) than it is still illegal to pirate it. Since you are making an unallowed copy of IP.

I am trying to tell you, that all those copies bought after auth servers being closed, can't be called "legal" since you can't activate them, that's what I am saying.

I've just recieved the delivery from a site called discshop and currently installing the patches about to get PR installed on here, everything seems to be working fine so far.
I'll be seeing you all soon on the field of battle.

And that statemant is not true. It still a legal copy, it does not change the EULA that comes with the game. You simply cant differ between a legal and a illegal copy anymore, since -- as you stated -- the auth server is down. That does not imply every copy left in stock is illegal now.

The one downloadable copy I found on Amazon was for US customers only. What about people in the UK?
