was there an error message? if so what did it say?

If you managed to join a server and play you don't need to mount or extract anything.

You just need to find the shortcut icon to start the game.

Do you know where your battlefield 2 is installed? Normally it's in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86).

When you say it crashed in the middle of the game: were you running around inside the game or was it like the start menu that says welcome to project reality?

why is it this hard

i got no error and bf2 is in my steam files

Go to the Launcher and in Options untick "Fullscreen" and try to join a server again. If you crash to desktop again you should see an error message.

i was running inside the gaming i was in a fire fight aswell lol

Alright, then if you can go to

Steam\SteamApps\common\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\bin

you will find the PRLauncher, just double click on this and your PR will start. A good idea is to right click on it and create a shortcut on your desktop.

Not sure why you didn't get a shortcut on your desktop when you installed it or why you can't find it in the start menu when searching for it.

So you were ingame actually? And then crashed to desktop? And this keeps happening? Randomly or shortly after joining a server?

i never got my game running of a shortcut

i was ingame and it froze and crashed idc about that im more worried about playing it lol

i nkow this might sound stupid but i cant see anything other than game shortcuts in the steam folder

How did you start your game then if you did not use a shortcut? you did start the PR Launcher didnt you?

Are you actually opening PR and not BF2?

im sorry if im angry if been trying for hours

well i got linked to a 3 hour iso file download so my virtual clone drive mounted it auto i think it had the logo of it anyway so i clicked open in the internet downloads and the project reality think open it was a short cut symbol so i clicked on the short cut and it launched

When I write steam folder I don't mean the things you see inside steam itself.

I mean the folder that contains steam inside your computer.

It's fairly simple to find, this video should show you:



Just that when you open the steamapps folder, don't follow him anymore but open the common folder instead.

He probably selected the run after install box at the last step of installation.

There is a file called PRLauncer.exe in there

in the folder thee is
