Please use the edit function even if you have a constant stream of info. Just do not double-post, ever. You have a higher post per week ratio than 5 other active users combined.

you dont need to create a new Bushmaster model, just retexture the one we have ingame allready:

The old assets for infantry are totally useless, since the kit has changed since then.

On the upside, everything has gone to multicam, so there's textures out there. The US models might be a good starting point because the new issue TBAS isn't wildly different from their chest rigs.

The F88s need to be redone as well, because the F88A3 is substantially different from the older A1 and A2s modeled. The F88C is basically fine though.

On the further upsides, there are quite a few models you can recycle easily. The SR25 and HK417 are both already in game, the FN MAG is already in, the M249 shouldn't take too much work to turn into a F89 Minimi. L96 is in (though not coded for 7.62 nato). M76A6 is in the game. I think the Carl Gustav is as well. Browning Hi Power is in. OKC3S is in I think. ACOG and ACOG RMR models can probably be recycled. Shotguns are all in. Claymores are in.

Vehicles are good as well. M1A1 mostly just needs retexturing. LAV25 ditto. Tiger ditto, excepting the US munitions, though there's backend work needed, since ARH uses US fire control and avionics. Bushmaster just needs the flags changed. I think the F/A18 model and texture was done as well by Tonny. M113 will need remodelling to AS4 standard, but there's already a good start point.

Also, voices were done, but will need redoing for the new commorose.

Black Gold is actually an ADF map, so that could be stolen back, and an ADF Uruzgan layer is historically accurate, and the Dutch comfac might allow its use.

All in all, putting together an ADF faction is probably, like, 75% done already. The situation has changed significantly since the last attempt.

Any chance we will see Raid at Dawn in the mod?

I second his question.

This map is not really up to par for PR use, I think AfterDune can explain this better but its a 2km map and most of the fighting is concentrated around a center compound. not really suitable for vehicles.

Spoiler for Raid at Dawn stuff:
I think it's actually a 1km map. To make it better suited for PR, it would require an overhaul of a bunch of things. I still like the looks of the map, but now that PR features up to 100 players on a single map... that would be too much. Though the battle it was based on was extremely intense, so it's not all wrong, but still not very suitable I'm afraid.

I once started a more accurate version of what Raid at Dawn was loosely based on, but never got around to finish it. It was a 2km map, almost 1:1 scale, using Rhino's new Afghan statics (but they were never finished, so that map too is not usable).

Here's a very, very early minimap:

Back then they didn't want to share (it was asked a couple of times). Since then the mod hasn't been alive, so unsure what they feel now (assuming you can get in touch with someone still). Also no idea if their assets are good enough, quality wise.

Ok I've had to cancel this project as I haven't got the time.

So what exactly happened with the last attempt at this? I read earlier that there was an attempt two years ago where the hard drive or something was corrupted but I may have misread that because I recall that there was significant progress on an ADF faction a little over two months ago, maybe more. Just wondering if someone could clarify.

Edit: Nvm I didn't read the date of the original one. Shame it got lost, they were so close.
