Can you consider a timer?
If a tracked apc with 1 health bar takes 8 minutes to repair from 1% health to 100% (around 50% it gets untracked) can't you give a timer to the repair station for it lifespan be around 5 minutes?

It would be great addition to have heli repair station. But give it to the heavy ones and with the system as deployable bridge has - both crates needed to drop repair station, when it's dropped hli will be out of supply crates and station. Make reloading two or three times longer than crate reaload time. Succesfull drop could be only steady hovering in max 5m height or landed on the gound.

It's not bad idea but need "some work behind" dropping rep. station itself ;)

I gotta disagree with this part. it's more likely that whatever shot the tank enough to cripple it in the first place would hang around to camp the helicopter, so chopper pilots would be afraid to approach until the area is clear. not to mention it would give AAA another reason to stick around armour, thus balancing the "AAA is boring" dynamic.

It's really requires a community test to know for sure.

But as Rhino has explained, it's not usually done in reality. However, i can imagine engineers being flown out to a tank to repair it, along with parts?

This wouldn't break logi truck usage as repair stations, since logi trucks can cover 1km/2km/4km maps, in many cases, they would still be the only way to untrack vehicles.

Helicopter's repair station would fit better on 4km maps only, due the time you would waste. Taking a logi out of main and driving it to the tracked vehicle would be 6~10 minutes (depending on the map), which makes the damaged vehicle a sitting duck.

The pilot would have to coordinate with the team to check for threats before moving in.
Giving it 10 seconds to be deployed out of the chopper would force the chopper to do a tactical approach, instead of doing something similar to the actual fly-fast-yolo crate drops.

I know it needs a lot of coding and tests, but ideas like that should not be abandoned so easily.

I personally think this is a great idea! As to how to implement it, that would need some testing, but I like the idea that only big transport choppers can carry it, and it's linked with the supply crate so it's either one or the other, and you have to resupply at heliport.

It also sort of simulates the transportation of engineer teams to tracked vehicles, or the transportation of repair supplies to the vehicle crew or engineer teams on the ground.

Maybe we can look at it as transporting the equipment and parts needed to repair the damage done to the vehicle. I'm not sure how it's handled in the field, most likely have guys roll up in a light vehicle and help get things moving forward and that is already simulated with the Logistics Truck.

I can really see merit in both sides of the discussion, it's a tough one and it might be best to default to how it's handled in real combat.

how about a heavy repair chopper? he just need to cost about 30 tikets so the team will be afraid to lose and only one per team and a big respawn time like a jet so the trans team will have more job and hard choose to do.
