Nice site upgrade! I love the fact that content isn't in a stupid iFrame anymore. It make things a lot simpler and easier to read. I also like the subtle new graphics... very clean!

kurtmax_0 wrote:Oh yeah, and I just remembered. The default handling of flash in IE7 is to require you to click on the actual flash object before you can interact with it. This means you gotta click twice instead of once to navigate now... I think this is something to do with Microsoft getting sued for embeded web page objects or something :/
Same in opera.

Its a nice evolution, tho I can't say I'm a big fan of replacing link buttons by flash (what can i say I'm a purist, I like right clicking on a link into a new tab rather then doing all my browsing in the same window  )

One thing which could be nice is making the snippets linked to the website they're quoting, that could be a nice touch which thoses sites would appreciate.

Its always nice to see things moving ;)

Yeah, I really like the rest of the site, but the navigation buttons being flash is a real pain. I'm gonna have to make bookmarks to the various portions of this site now instead of using the menu...

I can't use middle click to open a new tab anymore. Normally I would middle click on Forums and Tournament, but since it's flash that doesn't work anymore.

Yeah, there no need for the nav to be flash. I could do the whole thing, with rollovers etc, with a simple XHTML list and some CSS. No javascript, no flash etc. and it works in all browsers.

(note: I too can not open up new tabs by the middle click, or right-click new tab, and i have the newest version of Firefox and flash)

Okay, I made the nav with what I said. with rollovers, pure CSS, no delay, no preloading, no javascript.

File Here:
http://www.box.net/public/fhronmkkr9

Remove the nav from the flash. Just take the UL (id="nav") and place it after teh flash. Put the CSS in your CSS file. Add the images and change the URL path in the CSS if you need too.

Note:
I couldn't figure out how to centre the LIs in the UL nicely, so I did it an ugly way, it still works and looks fine, its just if you need to change something (add an iteam), you'll need to edit a little of the CSS.

Note 2:
Yes, it works in Firefox and IE fine.

Note 3:
add, turn off CSS, and it is still usable! yay!

Note 4:
please, use it, this not being able to use tabs is annoying, plus, having to wait for the flash to load is annoying to, plus in IE you have to click twice and ... you get the point

I love it too, it ook me a couple of seconds to figure out if was really changed and thats good IMO. One tiny little detail though. The quotes about PR in the top corner fade away a little too fast. Me as a non-englishman has to wait for the second time to finish reading the quote :? ??: Its really nice to see those great reaction though, good work!
