Re: 30: Machine Error.
Will need some info to diagnose this:
[R-COM]LITOralis.nMd wrote:Both of you: please tell us your antivirus, firewall, and if you have made exceptions for PRLauncher.exe PRBF2.exe and PRMumble.exe in your antivirus and firewall.
It generally sounds like your antivirus is set to a "high" security level and since PRLauncher.exe and PRBF2.exe are not signed executables, they are being blocked by A/V.
'[R-COM wrote:LITOralis.nMd;2040647']Try updating your .NET Framework to 4.5.2 , the PRLauncher program requires .NET framework 4.0 or newer.
Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 (Web Installer) for Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008 SP2 Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 from Official Microsoft Download
so quick questions:
1. does regular BF2 single player work?
2. Are you using a USB headset/headphones/microphone?
3. Are your NVidia drivers up to date?

Re: 30: Machine Error.
i am having the same problem, with the 30: machine error on startup.
Windows 7 home premium
My antivirus: McAfee
all PR programs are allowed through the firewall.
My .NET Framework is up to date to 4.5.2
1)PR single player works (going through the PR application itself, not the startup)
2)Yes, i am using a headphones
3) ?
Still having the same 30: machine error issue
Hope this helps,
Cheers

Re: 30: Machine Error.
Thx for reply!
I'm using Kaspersky antivirus, but haven't make any exeptions for it. Though, it also haven't told me anything about those exes. It's not on High security.
Firewall is turned off.
Turned off A/V and checked, still getting error, not the A/V fault.
.Net Framework is installed already. Installer said it could only repair on uninstall.
1. It does, played yesterday.
2. Yes I am. Plugged out my headphones, and tried. Still having error.
3. Not an Nvidia card, I have AMD. I'm using 14.2 It's the latest exept beta versions.

I have made exceptions for the .exe's stated above. ( ESET Nod 32 8.0)
.NET Framework is up to date (4.5.2)
Firewall disabled
1. Yes BF2 single player works
2. Yes I am using a USB headset
3. And yes my AMD drivers are up to date.
Still not working.

30: Machine Error
So there's already two separate threads in support on this problem from people with a range of machines and anti virus setups. When starting the launcher, a 30:Machine Error is generated and the launcher then closed. This isn't related to the firewall or the antivirus as I've just gone through a complete uninstall of all anti virus software as well as confirmed exceptions exist for PRLauncher, Mumble, Updated and .exe and this error is still present. There is a wide range of users encountering the same issue with various antivirus and machine setups.
I've tried the fixes listed in the separate posts but due to the amount of people that also still have this problem (despite firewall/anti virus exceptions) so this looks like a genuine bug.
Specs:
Windows 8.1
16GB Ram
Nvidia 850M
Avast! Anti virus (uninstalled before installing PR)

Error 30: Machine Error?
When I started up the PR launcher after installing it, I was greeted with, as the title suggests, a prompt stating "Error 30: Machine Error." After closing this prompt the launcher shut down and that was that. It seems odd because I have always been able to play PR in its latter versions with little to no hassle. Before installing, I uninsltaled PR mod from BF2 as stated in the forums. I then chose to uninstall BF2 to see if it had somehow corrupted the standalone file. With no avail, I then proceeded to uninstall and reinstall PR standalone to see if the installation had somehow been corrupted but it seems that was not the case and that the issue at hand is more sinister than that. Anyways, long story short, I cannot start the game and need help.

There is an image of the problem if you wish to see it.

This is also proof that the folder has not been moved into a hidden folder as clearly show in the image and I still continue to receive this error.
EDIT: I dont believe that the issue lies in anti virus or firewalls because I have already tried catering to that. I have disabled my anti virus and made exceptions for all PR related exe's and once again with no avail I continue to receive this error. PS, I restarted my computer after installing PR if you were wandering so the issue does no lie there either.

Re: 30: Machine Error.
This isn't antivirus/firewall related.
I've done several install attempts with Avast! uninstalled and I'm still getting this error. Concidering there is such a diverse range of antivirus software being listed by people and all encountering the same issue despite exceptions being set, this looks to be caused by something else.
OS: Windows 8.1
Gfx: Nvidia 850M
Ram: 16GB
Antivirus : Avast! (both installed and removed before installed PR, neither worked)
.NET Framework updated based on admin post - still no change

Let's check hash of ISO?
7B69BFC63538ADEF3E7BEC74BA0B47E9C819E6F0
Also, I haven't got this error in pr 1.2
Launcher log explains everything.
What about making PRupdater not restricted to be used with launcher, so people could update\check for updates their files even if launcher doesn't work.

Re: 30: machine error
I installed it on windows, the launcher works (not the game, i have a too old PC) you just have to install it on another hard drive (instead C:// i installed it in E:// for me).
Now i must copy the game and paste it on my Mac, and play !
EDIT : mmmh it don't make the error on my PC but on my Mac yes...

Re: 30: machine error
Okay, so ive tried everything! I dont have comodo firewall so its obviously nothing to do with that, ive disabled my firewall and antivirus when installing...did not work...allowed the files in my antivirus (avast!) and in the firewall. I have tried installing on my desktop instead yet I still get the "30: Machine error message when I open the launcher.
we need help! now!
