I highly doubt that, as I do not even use the Windows Defender. I don't use any anti-virus for about 5 years now. No.Arab wrote:Is there any antiviruses running? You could add the PR directory to the antivirus exception list.
My guess would be a software conflict. Something's using that file that it shouldn't use, and it would make sense for anti-viruses/anti-spywares to cause that error message.

Got that same error randomly when editing some files.Backup any files from ProjectReality that you might need before attempting this.Code: Select all

1. In My Documents/Documents delete 'ProjectReality'
2. In Program Files/Project Reality/mods/, copy 'pr', paste it and rename the copy to pr_edit
3. Run pr_edit by going to the bin folder, and double-click on PRLauncher.exe
4. Retreive the account you want to use again, and launch it
5. Create any local game and join it. This is to build the profile. Exit.
It should work now. It's weird since it's random. I then used the old profile folders and it worked too.
As for the profile issue, try uninstalling PR, restart and reinstalling. It's definitely a bug, so I'll check with the devs if it's known.P.A wrote:Found the solution - DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer
