I'm actually a little surprised by how many new players already have mics. The majority I've lead seemed to have them at least.

Most just need to know what keys are for push-to-talk.

For the record: "NumPad 0" for squad chat, "H" for local chat by default!

Newer players can still do decently when lead into battle; they just need to be reminded to always look around.

I enjoy helping new players as long as they are not only willing to learn but eager to learn. A few times I have been teaching new players how to work mortars after the commander asked us to set them up and even a more experience player learned how to see the range to the marker the squadleader put down to add into his calculations.

I usually like having one or two pretty experienced squadmembers in my squad as well so If I doing something else logistics wise or for the commander they can take the squad and lead them for a bit.

Come on guys!!! We have a ton of new players, please welcome them and show some dadblame customer service. Some of the behavior that I seen over the weekend leads me to believe that it will drive away the new players in droves. Live with the adjustment period and welcome the new players. If we do not do this, we will begin seeing total player numbers go back down below 500 within the next month. << my prediction
I have no idea what server you play on. And you should definitely another server.
All I've seen every day/night is at least three ''new people squads'' per team, all the time. I've only seen vets helping new people left and right. There has been many new people thanking the vets, enjoying the game. We've had new people joining our TS to play with us and others.

Just letting you know that things are going very, VERY well for new people on our side of the community.

Honestly, I don't mind teaching new players, and I've even introduced a few new friends to PR now that it's "risk free". But honestly, PR is going to be chaotic until they're fully trained, and the only way to make sure that's fixed is by helping them out, and perhaps ironing out some outright trolls that have no intentions of learning the game for what it is..

I'm actually really happy about the growing community and it is fun to play with new people, but things like non-communicating squads, people blowing their Bombcars up in Main, people solo-ing Logis for transport, people breaking asset and squad rules are just really tiring, and i know that i made mistakes like these myself when i started playing, but it's happening so often now...

Have met only a few new players that were doing something obnoxiously stupid. Most new players say they've played some DayZ, or something similar, which (please don't laugh) is good. Means they know that bullets are lethal, and dying isn't fun. Means they know that it's important to talk to your squad mates and look at the map.

Please everyone let's be patient with new players and old players. New players is good. Means we can have more servers, a bigger community. Let's not forget that the players who don't find the game fun won't last in it, and will move on to the next flavor of the month.

Good Afternoon,

Well, considering the opener to this thread was a week ago I hope things are getting better. Yes, I'm seeing more squads designed to help the new players but the admins evidently haven't seen them. Here's where I'm going with this, in all honesty, the admins really set the tone for the server. If you have hardcore admins that don't tolerate a damn thing, everyone is complaining and moaning. If you have "loosey goosey" admins that tolerate everything, you have only new players playing on that server learning new habits as the veterans quickly find another server.

I'm looking for that balance where SL's, admins, and veterans are all considerate of the newer players and welcome them. The tide is turning but sheesh, some of the stuff I heard on SL chat as well as the warns/kicks/bans from admins were ..... let's just say it was like the following:
