The enemy could probably hide 2 men in the MK12 Crosshairs.
Its near impossible to get headshots because of the appauling accuracy.
3 mags wtf i seriously doubt the US DMR would have 3 mags he should be abel to use the 30rders should have as many mags as the Rifle man.

I agree with that. If the officer is supposed to stay back then he should get a magnifying scope. It should be a little more powerful than the susat on the L85, but less than the current DMR zoom.

officers shouldnt have any thing different from the rifleman kits, other wise people will just waste the kit to get the weapon.

No the ACOG has a 4x zoom and the SUSAT has a 4x zoom

There are different versions of the ACOG, some with lower zooms than the SUSAT and some with higher, though, to my knowlege the most common version is indeed 4x.

I agree with Xizor there, snipers and designated marksmen should work alongside each other... perhaps change the requirements for how many players are on a team to get each limited kit? For example, a team with 16 players or less could only get a DMR, but a team with more than that could get one DMR and one sniper, and if they meet the next requirement (20 players, I believe) they could get two DMRs and one sniper. Could also be changed to act similarly to the light AT kit and the heavy AT kit, where the DMR isn't limited but the sniper is.
The UK DMR is the L86 with a 4x susat, essentially the same as the rifleman kit's L85 with 4x susat but with alot fewer magazines.
Can't wait for the M14, 7.62 FTW lol.

^^ in my opinion the dmr definitely needs to stay as limited.

Hell, I don't know if anyone else finds that extremely funny (or am I just too tired? Haven't slept well in ages..

) but everytime I've opened this page and read that I've started laughing out loud.
I guess it's time to go to sleep soon... or maybe I'll just play a few rounds before I do that..

lol, it's true. I mean i've still managed to get the odd Sniper in the crane on Muttrah from the Docks with the Mk12....those days practising with the M95 in vBF2 paid off i guess...but still..

I love the MK12. But if the M14's better, than M14 FTW. DMR is my favorite kit. Anything that encourages using it as a DMR is used in real life (actually supporting a squad... not like a sniper) is good in my book.

I did a fair bit of supporting just now, on Muttrah, we were defending the Gas Station (on the US side), I was DMR, and was lying behind a tree in the desert, picking off enemies who were firing on the rest of my squad from the buildings.

Nice. Too many people just treat it like a sniper rifle I find.

Actually what you just said is Sniping. The designated Marksmen operate from within squad formation. They are just more accurate and can take select enemies out easier. Say a USMC squad is crossing a road on Muttrah and start taking automatic weapons fire from one of the roofs. They get pinned by an RPK gunner and all take cover by a car or somthing. The Marksman just pops him and the rest of the squad takes the rest of the lil G3 toting buggers out. If he had been acting as a sniper he wouldnt have probably been in the same squad if he was being used realisticly, he wouldve been camped out on a building either keeping the enemy off AA or spotting targets for the commander to relay to the attack Choppers. That is not the Designated Marksman job.
