Pff, 30% here. I would raise that if jets and helicopters were lowered.

Why dont you lower windows sound and put PR on 100% instead? You loose alot of sound details cause their threshold depends on the ingame sound setting. You will hear much more with 100% ingame and lowered windows than the other way round.

Then you really couldn't hear anyone on Teamspeak?
Edit... nevermind I get it now. Lower PR through Windows and then set PR in game to 100%.

I lower my game effects to 26% and set a volume +/- for mumble. I can hear everything just fine, including someone tip-toeing up on me to slit my throat on plush carpet. I don't think I'm missing anything, and if I am, I'm really
not missing it. Plus, I'm probably doing a lot less damage to my hearing this way. Loud doesn't necessarily mean better.
I use a
7.1 surround sound USB headset.
I do this for each and every multiplayer game in which I use TS or some other VOIP.

I am not talking about loudness. Its about the threshold of certain sounds in the BF engine. The loudness will be the same with 100% PR sound and 50% windows sound or 50% PR and 100% windows, its about the details that get lost.

Is that actually true?

I cant confirm it 100%, but me and others independently felt the difference and came to the same conlusion. Also it would make sense technically.

I'm pretty sure Spook is right. I've been doing as he said above for the past few weeks, and I definitely feel a difference.
Also, I play 6% for jets/helis/vehicles and 100% for everything else.

But how do you fix mumble and teamspeak then?

inf at 30%
helis and tanks at 6% approx
so i can hear teamspeak and mumble.
I can still hear tanks at that volume.
I tried that 3rd party adjustment mentioned in the first page of the thread, and i doesn't work.
In the end if more people than me are adjusting the volume its up to the PR dev team to consider adjusting it.
