Remember that what really eats resources is texture size & quality. You can run a game fairly nicely even at 1600x1200 with full geometrics & drawing distance, just cut the texture quality down. Geometrics, models & drawing distance need power from your GPU, textures eat all the memory. That's why 2Gb of memory eases living in the harsh world of PR.

Naturally it's all about your computer's specs, but this is a general rule on BF games. After all, drawing distance + FPS = life ;)

A small edit: No 1600x1200 on your graphics card, I'm afraid, but maybe it can do 1024x768 with lowest textures?

Thnaks everyone for yout help. it turned out to be an issue with the drivers I had installed. Nvidia sorted it for me, thanks again for your suggestions.
Now how do I get this VOIP thing to work.................................

Well besides enabling it in sound options you can set it up via:
My computer/Local Disk/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield 2/BF2VoiceSetup clic on it...its intuitive.
