I had a lot of fun today. Balanced teams, stable server. Pretty good server.

Some things I wanted to mention:
The start was not perfect. Some admins were lacking experience and the gameplay was not high level.
However, we did a lot of stuff to change that:
- Completely updated and new rule set. Everyone is invited to discuss/suggest rules or the removal of rules
- Multiple meetings to discuss exactly about that ^
- A lot of admin "training" to give the newer admins some advises of how to behave and what to do in specific situations
- And we tried to setup the server as effective as possible: Meaning that you get a short version of the most important rules in the loading screen and the server stability is now as high as it can get (or as high as were able to do it

)
Anyways. We hope everyone will enjoy the server now as much as we do and if not, tell us why.
See ya

So, I played on your server for a couple rounds earlier. It was quite interesting, Comms we decent ( I did have to ask a couple times before i would get a response out of squad leaders ). But thats sort of a situational complaint.
My big complaint is with an admin by the name of Karl.
Im curious as to why on a server containing "=TACTICAL GAMING=". That an admin was leading free kit squads.

After i reported Multiple times, Karl deleted his squad. Then joined sniper squad and later inherited it.

I will give props to the other admin on the server, I believe it was Krusty. His response times on reports was decently fast for one of two admins on the server. I just wish they didn't pick the worst layer of Kashan.
Thanks

I kinda see Karls possible logic in this situation. Maybe he intended to make a Sniper squad, but then noone joined and he couldn't request that shit. But a Free kit squad is more interesting for noobies (and generally REALLY harmful for server as it absolutely disrupts the gameplay - 8 whole people are basically self-acclaimed lonewolfs who are not ashamed of it.
Yet if he would make a REAL sniper squad, I wouldn't have that much against his tactic, though... again - it encourages l-wolfing.
But if we think about it a bit more (or have played enough of PR and also, for example/comparison, ARMA), we understand that sniper a one of the most situational weapon in PR. As it's rendered somewhat useless beyond mid-range, yet in almost all modern shooters, even the tactical ones like ARMA series, sniper weapons work as any other gun - except it can't be fired in semi auto because instead of doing the same follow up shots basically really, really fast the game designers have made a series of animations that delivers a bolt action feel and look in your monitor (as the gun gets slowly reloaded after each shot using the bolt action). Yet in reality it's the SAME principle between every gun. But in PR it's different. I mean, sniper is also just as any other weapon in PR/BF, but in PR it's... yeah, I think we can call it that way - nerfed. Nerfed because it's "made" for sniping missions and one shot kills, not the possibility to acquire new targets and engage them relatively fast and effectively at the same time (e.g., you can kill with the sniper rifle in PR as much as it allows you to do it with it's limitations).
TL;DR: Sniper in PR (compared to ARMA2 sniper rifles and their absolute similarity to every other gun in ARMA@) is a really different animal (knowingly "newfed" by devs so it is used "properly" (I don't really much know about the proper usage of a sniper rifle, but IMO it can be used whenever you can let yourself some time off from worrying about flags/others Squads not being on actual flags/being somewhere in the middle of fucking nowhere (it's really fucking typical nowadays).
Real TL;DR: F-you guys, learn to read.

Ahh i see, like the name says. He was tryna be tactical, My bad. How dare i question an admin making a squad for lone wolfing in project reality.

Our thoughts:
- Karl does not wear DPRC tags and thus is not representing DPRC. He is an admin who tries to keep the server clean. Most of the time members try to encourage INF squads
- The standalone brought us a LOT of new players. Those usually end up in "free kit" squads. Since there is no real definition of a "free kit" sq we do not try to prevent it via the rule
s since this could bring admin abuse. However, we have multiple votings up about rule changes that will (hopefully) decrease the amount of free kit squads (
Server Suggestions).
- Before all these suggestions came up, we tried something experimental. It was a thing years ago on some servers... we let "sniper" squads claim those kits. That way the typical lonewolf snipers stay in the same squad instead of creating/joining a different one. This would encourage the 1st "free kit" sq but decrease the number of those squads in the long way because these guys are now forced to be in the same squad. Because of that, we can not blame Karl for doing something encouraged by the rules.
I hope I explained everything clearly.

I think "no free kit squads" is pretty self explanatory as a rule. Works for many other servers.

Currently were trying to make rules as clear as possible so admin abuse is not a thing. A rule like "no free kit squads" would allow such admin abuse since - as I said - there is no real definition of a "free kit sq".
Imagine the following:
8-man squad. 4 guys doing teamwork, the other 4 guys are spread over the map. Is this "free kit"? What if we change the numbers. 3 doing teamwork, 5 spread out? 5 teamwork, 3 spread out? What is "free kit" and what is not.
Just as an example. We hope free kit squads will become less now since some changes to the rules were done.

I mean as long as your admins are consistent on their definition of a free kit squad and enforce this. Noone would mind.

yes. But for that we need a definition. And this is simply impossible.

[DPRC] server , around 11:15 seeding Falujah West. 2 admins online DoctorCox i think and Krusty. 12-15 max people on server yet, FOBS being destroyed by area attack Hideouts being destroyed one by one, around 11:30 Cache goes down with not more than 15 people on the server ( seed rule is 20v20 ... so there needs to be 40 players until you can destroy cache, fob, hideout etc). I want to say that Krusty was not here when this was happening but Doctor was. People were raging about the cache being destroyed but the admin did not care it seems.
Great server for griefing, and trolling !

Admins were afk. To seed.
In this argumentation you say that destroying cashed, hideouts and fobs equals griefing. Wrong.
Read the rules before you tell me anything about a 20v20 rule. Were still discussing how many players are needed to be allowed to destroy that. But democracy is hard sometimes.
And pls. Inform yourself before you start posting feedback. ty

There are almost all the time admins online (ingame or PRISM) but most of us have to go to work or university/college in the morning. (Germany GMT +1) So if we dont respond in time dont blame us...just keep reporting the guys who violate the server rules. We will check the log files later on

Well destroying the CACHE that early on is wrong CAS, because it ruins the game for insurgents. If you are right in this one, then people can destroy caches when only 2 guys are playing. HAHAHAH I thought its the FOBS, and HIDEOUTS were not to be destroyed while server is seeding but it might be just on this server.

You clearly did not read my reply. We want this rule. We know its needed.
