When are you deleting this map and adding the good one back?

In fact don't even delete it, just add the good one back as summer. Don't know who bald brained the idea of only having one or the other.

Its 2 years ago and all the points against the map are still standing. Why cant we have both versions like dovre? Like many other said the inf combat is way worse then on old yamalia.

Inf combat is better on winter imo. I don't have many fond memories of trying to spot invisible soldiers at the bottom of trees.

.
Ok i can see that some prefer more static gameplay. But you had much more options for cover and to flank around on the old one. You have to agree that the inf gameplay was different. I see no reason to not put the old one back. What was the reason behind removing the old one btw?

I don't see why you cant add old yamalia back as summer version. Everyone i've asked either doesn't like yamalia winter, prefers old yamalia or would want both. Just because you don't have fond memories of it 5 years ago when the devs actually played doesnt mean others dont.

Old Yamalia was miles more fun, new Yamalia is campfest and tank fights on old Yamalia were 10/10.

I want to back hairy on this one, Yamalia should have 2 variants, just like Dovre. I enjoyed the tank battles and inf gameplay on the summer version, it looked better overall, why did it get removed?

I'd say that neither versions are very good. Both have their pros and cons and are probably somewhat average/decent in terms of gameplay after you weight the good and the bad.
But, both of them offer something different in terms of feel, design and gameplay in comparison to the rest of the maps, and are certainly very different and very alike at the same time between them. This is even more important to recognize when you look at the 4 km map pool, after that its a no brainer to acknowledge that having both as an option to rotate between from time to time would be a good thing.

Just add tanks on the winter layout and I'll be happy.

What are those considering the map changed for v1.6?

I would like both to be in game, I think they both offer different relatively good gameplay and they deserve to be in game. Maybe bring changes of Yamalia Winter to Summer version, as in most case I think they work whit some cons.

Tanks were worst part of original and really do not fit map, specially in Canada vs Russia layers. Maybe on US layer whit AT vehicles in play and IFVs whit ATGMs to try to counter it.

Regardless of the winter/summer debate, did the terrain LODs get fixed? One of the worst parts of winter yamalia is how infantry beyond 200m are all behind invisible terrain.

We are working on increasing the terrain LOD distance and even have option to disable them completely. Default BF2 has 100m LOD switch distance which is way too small for PR sizes.
