Yeah i still have some issiues with the scale especially with the rear sight, because the blueprint which i found is bad at some point, but i will try to improve it. Thanks for hint for welding these details, i was wondering about that and you give me answer.

You can bake these details on the magazine with normals instead of welding (yet it depends on how big the detail is, for example AK magazine lines like on your magazine are baked). Also i would suggest to detach rifle mesh by segments (barrel+forward sights, foregrip etc), it would save you polycount.
But it would be better for now to recheck references you are using, since it's very time consuming to adjust mesh to better blueprints.

for the 1st person model at least, it is worth having a bit of LP mesh to support the details on the mag, with a HP bake on top of it, instead of only just a HP normal bake for the best results.

Had some things to do in my personal life, so i wasn't doing anything about it. Last version that i put to p3d was similar to the latest one. But now i got a lot of free time and i can try to finish it.

You could remove some details on the butt of the stock and the muzzle flash as those can be done with UV texture. Whats the poly count?

finally a chad that will save us all g3 is been a pain in the *** for the longest time i suggest putting the g3 on std and hk33 for alt or maybe add another tier STD,ALT,SPC(special) selection on kits so we have other variant and u can choose what loadout u wanna play when u die and about to spawn in a fob cqb,long range engagements etc.. i find it annoying when u literally dont have any option besides STD which is g3 and alt which is g3 again

Fuck battle rifles. They're only good with scopes as impromptu dmrs. Otherwise they are outclassed by almost everything else. I'd rather the mec get AK101s.

And the answer you're about to get is that there are too many AK or AR factions already, so DEVs want to be more diverse on that matter.

That is not an argument, that's a tossed line or catchphrase that has no bearing on the topic at hand.
As far as I can see, most of the team wants to prevent MEC from getting the AK74(or any 5.45mm AK-variant) if nothing else but for the reason that it would make MEC a reskin of the Russian Forces given that all of MEC's hardware(with the exception of the Honker and the Challenger on Masirah) is Russian already; now you want the only exception to that - the German small arms selection - to be replaced by the Russian one. So instead of having a faction that is more uniquely designed than most others and which has its very own strengths, weaknesses and playstyle, you think it would be better to just copy a different one and call it a day I guess? I personally am not thrilled by this suggestion.
And while I personally consider the HK33 to be a boring choice for MEC's G3 successor, I still think that to be much better than having yet another (sub)faction with a AK variant as standard issue rifle.

While it's admirable that you seek to 'diversify' the faction weaponry. There are practical limits; such as gameplay. My disdain for battle rifles is well publicized. They are noncompetitive to assault rifles. The lack of ammunition and higher recoil is not a good trade-off for more damage. And battle rifles perform poorly in CQB situations. The russian faction is one of my personal favorite factions in the game. Their gameplay experience is more satisfying than the mec faction. Especially on maps where the two conflict against each other. Iron sight layers for mec as a whole are a pain in the ***. Not even falklands maps can make battle rifles enjoyable. The only scenario where battle rifles are fun is when used as impromptu marksman rifles. When that high damage can be put to good use. All other scenarios, the battle rifle falls short. Except for ww2, but that's another story.

The AK platform is one of the best weapons platforms in the game. Regardless of caliber. The iron sights are some of the best for Point-Blank to Medium Range. Semi or Fully automatic fire. You're not going to have a bad time if you have an AK. Some of the most fun fights are AK vs AK. Russia vs Chechnya, FSA vs INS.
I personally would love to see the AK101 and AK103 make it in game somehow.

first things first this model looks great, but would the inconsistencies with the current G3 in game be an issue since there's a lot of shared parts between the two. You planning to make a G3 overhaul as well?
