Honestly I would be happy with the seeing the mine warning like vBF2, but no more than 8 meter away from the min. It will keep people checking their map and surroundings, but will be a little forgiving.

Can all of you tell me where on a given map it is reserved as an area of "friendly travel" on an INS map, where the fighting area moves?
...and the rest of you are acting like people are ONLY placing mines at the cache. I play INS as much as I can, and I don't remember regularly having a problem spawning into a cache and then blowing up from friendly mines. Maybe its the server you all are playing on?
I'm sure it has happened, but getting TKs from people not checking their map is WAY more common, and I experience all the time.
When I have died from a mine it was placed in a walk way or on a road somewhere and I didn't check the map to be aware of the locations of mines. I check my map about a hundred of times in a round.
It is very visible that there is a mine near by on the map, and you can see it as you walk around or driving.
The fault of me being killed by the mine was on me because it was totally avoidable.
AND... if you spawn into a cache that has red skulls around it, it is your fault...
You clicked on that white dot on the map seeing the red skulls around it. You ran into that cache building after looking at your map several times, and not taking note of where the red skulls were...
It is your fault for getting Team Killed by a mine and wasting that asset and the other player's efforts.

All the mines that friendly troops place are near the cache at the start of the round the enemy team doesn't even know where it is yet and they still place them anyway why not near\around enemy fobs and their point of attack instead of near the cachesRusty_42 wrote:How about motivating players not to mine friendly positions? Quite the opposite. ive noticed people spawning in at a cache or fob and the first entrance just PLOPPING down a mine. what do they think is going to happen? I would say instead of punishing the friendly's who set them off. dont allow the placement of mines within a certain amount of time from spawning. forcing them to wait and come up with a better plan or walking across the street and placing elsewhere. OR since no one is really at fault since who is looking at the map while within a cache building just don't have team kills cost anything

But you should check your map for mines even when in the cache area because your defending it and your teammates place mines there to deter the advance of the enemy but it only gonna lead to tks because players don't want to check their mapsRedamare wrote: since no one is really at fault since who is looking at the map while within a cache building
