Its a bug, even after the 10 seconds you can keep going on for about 10 more seconds.

Took me like 2 days but I found out why! I put them in a MOVING car while someone else was driving then when he hopped out I got in. Its something from vanilla when I put them down in went through the car, just like you can shoot the driver while in the car and not hit him
