Sorry for the huge-ly late reply, finished up with the training and continued playing on to hone what Fuzz taught, next thing I know I had half an hour to get ready and get to work >.> (PR shouldn't be played by gaming addicts =P)

Did the training today with Fuzz, Nephrmuus, Bigboss, Nimblejack, Noir and Myfrog (who's antics were hilarious to the point of distraction =P) and it was definetly worth every second. I'll definetly be passing the knowledge on to others as Fuzz told us to =)

A personal highlight was the supressive fire training he put us through which we used in a later (active) round to great effect :-P

Thanks again to Fuzz for sharing his SL wisdom and to all the others who made it a successful session.

If you use vegas you dont even need to do vdub. Download the trial.

For your own sake I would not expect it too soon.

I have run into some issues. Youtube, makes it so they have to be under 100megs and less than 10mins. Otherwise this could have been easy...

Basically, my normal method of compression that has worked for me in the past has decided to not work, so now I have to compress it in a less efficient way making this take longer and I'm uploading the first one now, but I'm capped so it might not work...

Basically, it maye be later this week... sigh... If all had gone to plan I would have had about 3 up by now...

Bummer. I wonder if the raw footage could be put up by a torrent file? Then we can view without having to deal with 10 minute bites.

Maybe PR can host it?

maybe tomorrow, maybe the following day, but no later than that, I will be uncapped, until that time, nothing will be uploaded.

BTW the raw fraps files amount to 24.7GB, so I'm as keen as you guys to finish this up and free up my full hdd.

As far as problem solving my virtual dub problems, here it goes.

I exported the timeline from Premier to an uncompressed video/uncompressed audio .avi file format.

I opened the .avi file in virtual dub and compress the video with DivX6.5.1 logical 1 codec at 1000kb/s and compress the audio with mpeg layer 3 @ 3200kb/s (I normally do 44k but most of the options have been removed for some reason through the program), and then I go "save as avi" and I get this message:

source image format no acceptable (error code -2)

:s

I could uninstall/reinstall both premier and vdub, and will do so, and try again.

Apparently when you install new programs (such as my new midi technology...) it can do 'stuff' to 'things' and 'issues' 'arise'.

I'll let you know how this goes, but if anyone can shed some light on this subject, link to good forums for this stuff etc, I'd appreciate it..

So now, you know not to wait desperately for this... lol

Guess what?
I fixed it.

Expect all 5 videos to be up by Monday.

They will be found here:

I'll post again once they are all finally up and ready to watch. In the mean time, they are being exported/rendered/uploaded.

Righty-o Fuzz, if the times are roughly the same as the week before last I'd be willing to help out with the training in any of the ways we were talking about.

yeah we need things like this so us few who are on these boards can lead the rest. Someone should make a thread with these videos on the first post so it can be seen more.
