our future projects are more aimed at big, combined arms maps and we are exsperimenting with 4km^2 maps (twice the size of any stock map, or al basrah).
we are not going to take this mod into a vinnial frag fest between flags that are 20m apart any time soon.....

i dont think that an army are going to send troops without air support only beacuse civ casualtys.
personaly , a want something like midway / coral sea . a big map with 2 carriers , and 2 destroyers , the objetive is destroy the enemy destroyers/carrier before they cross the map

I can't figure out why the urban maps in BF2 always get so much play. It's nothing like combat in real cities, because you can't enter any buildings (ok, except for half a dozen on a huge map maybe). BF2 urban combat rarely involves clearing houses, it's just people running around in the the open streets.

'[R-DEV wrote:Riki_Rude_BTYC']PR is trying to get big maps, as big as they can go. Bigger map promotes the kind of gameplay most people are looking for. Like insalii or whatever forest, i can't stand the map it's so tiny! most of our players want bigggg 64 player maps. i think your best bet would be to help set up a city/urban server that has maps on 16 player size =)
Small mps to most of us is just too CCSish
I agree.
I would also like to see more forest maps like Steel Thunder pop up which are a nice change. Ghost Train is good too, but I think the transport chopper might of killed it on that map. Also, it is on a slope, and that kind of spreads infantry combat out. Steel Thunder 64 is pretty much the most perfect forest map out. Has a little of everything and is the equivalent of Al Basrah in the forest.

I like goods station, that's probably one of my favorite infantry maps.

With that in mind... what's the plan with the current maps. Alot of the current maps really aren't that large either. Street, Goods Station, Airport, Muttrah City, Sunset City and many more maps are relatively small compared to Al Basrah and such. I also notice alot of maps get "cut" from the latest PR releases (Zhanjing Security Area, CP Abadan and many others from previous releases).
Personally, I'd like to see some of the current maps brought up to "scale" so to speak.
