I love this idea. Airbases should have powerful AA to make cratering a runway a difficult task. Asset centric gameplay ftw!

I believe the idea for heavy AD around airfields that we came up with the last time this was suggested was having a couple of the faction's mobile AA unit boxed in so it couldnt be driven off.
Not 100% realistic, but it would have provided better AD than the then availible stationary STA missle sites.

Of course, if the runway was destroyed, whats to stop the plane from taxing to the side and taking off there?

FH2 has this , bombers can destroy airfields if the enemy team

we could not do it for every map IMO. only certian types of maps would work.

Theres a Mod that has already done this called, Rising Confilcts, it worked too as it seemed the runways was built up of Thin Square Blocks that used the BF2 Runway skin and were Destructable and any aircraft trying to take of on it blew up but it seemed the mappers werent to good though as i found sometimes these were just floating in the Air on some maps.
