Top_Cat,

1stMIP has been using fire teams since the beginning of BF2 and they are very well established in our squads.

We would love to discuss, share our experience and learn from those who enjoy playing games with a like-minded serious approach.

The following is a guide prepared for fire team members. I hope it helps:

Fire Team Member Handbook

Feel free to visit us at tacticalgamer.com, to discuss and to play.

Thank you very much, great to see some of the really basic tactics explained, aswell as some of the more complicated.

I will also join the forum and i look forwed to trying out some of this cool stuff, with as you nicely put it, players who also have a "serious approuch".

I really like your idea, TC, but it seems very difficult to realize in an ordinary public scenario.
This concept works best with clans playing public, or if you can muster a group of voulenteers on schedual. I joined you on TS the other day, but there were only three of us, so it was a little difficult to go through with your plan. If you organize a night-a-week-thing on a server with allready well implementet teamplay, maybe you'll get enough people to join you.
Name a time and place, and i'd be happy to sign up for the experiment as long as i'm available.

I do realize the complications with trying to implament this on normal public servers. BUT i see the only problem being the lack of TS usage. I think this becuase i am comfident that with a few commited and intelligent players (2/3) i can organize the 2 fireteams with even the most random and normaly non tactical player.

Therefore, the short term way to solve the lack of TS using players is as you said, set a time and a place.

A the moment finding a decent server is difficult, the iGi server is good but around 9 possible TS users (iGi members) play together and i dont see many joining us but iGi is still probaly one of the better servers to try it on.

The main other option, is Tactical Gamer one, i am thouroughly impressed by their PR forum section in terms of tactics and attitude.

So hopefully, in a few days time, once i have decided on the best server (MIGHT UPDATE THIS EVENING - see how Tactical Gamer server is, finger crossed - look out for me on this server and possibly iGi) i will be able to set a date and place. But till then i encourage as many players with TS to look out for other players with TS - becuase with out TS, the fireteam idea is nothing and there is no point just waiting for a certian day to use it, so might as well get out there and have it ON!

TS SERVER i will always be on when i play, always!:

Project realitys official Free one, all players can use:

Having played as Pointman for Fireteam Bravo under Top Cat, I can atest that it is possible to have this work on a public server. To boot, not even everyone in the squad was on VOIP. One guy (forgot his name) was typing away like a madman. It was a truly great and fun round.
So it can work on the pubs if you're lucky enough.

Yay, i'll grab Zizler and KatanaJr's a** and drag them with me. We always use TS to communicate, also because Zizler's VOIP is messed up.. He cant use it whatever he try's.

Topcat, one thing to note is that VoIP is the primary communication channel used on the TG server... TS used to augment that is awesome (anxious to try the two-squad system), but SL's and SM's need to use VoIP for intra-squad comm's :D

As an official representative of TG I need to clarify that this is *NOT* endorsed by Tactical Gamer. We provide both in-game VoIP as well as official TG TeamSpeak servers for in-game communication and tactical planning.

The TeamSpeak server information for the official TG server can be found in the Tactical Gamer Announcements forum located here: http://www.tacticalgamer.com/tactical-g ... uncements/

I understand you have good intentions, but before declaring an official TeamSpeak server for TG's PRRM server, you might want to actually check with someone at TG. :)

LOL, the 2nd post, the top post on this page, when compared with the post on the previous page (very similar - odd, not sure why) is actualy missing the word "PRM" after the word OFFICIAL.

That changes the meaning, however the above does not state it is the OFFICIAL TS server for TG BUT it could imply it and for that reason, i am sorry.

QUESTION: can the TG TS server only be used by TG forum members or can any decent, honest player on the TG server us it???

This confusion, is the single reason i have not suggested use of the TG TS server, i am not out hear to break rules, possibly virtual skulls though, jke, bad i know, but i need cheering up!

My apologies as well. I thought you were trying to dictate a new official Tactical Gamer TS server. Being the owner/developer for TG I imagine you can understand how I would take exception to something like that. :)

The TG TS server can be used by anyone participating on TG servers. You do need to register on the TG site in order to get the password though. We do expect people to be respecful to others on the server. If you want to set up a temp channel under the BF2/PRRM area to coordinate between fire teams in-game, that's fine too! We're quite flexible in that regard. We do, however, expect people to still be responsive to in-game VoIP as we don't want newcomers who are not on the TeamSpeak server to be left out as it pertains to planning and the general CoC that occurs within the game.

I fully understnad you reasoning behind the use of VOIP and allowing new players to fully enjoy PR.

I have been playing PR for a year, however i only started using VOIP about 3 months ago. However, the 9 months previous allowed me to fully plan the use of fireteams with in 6 man squads using VOIP.
HOwever i have reached a stage now, where even this bores me due to the lack of tactical possibilities, direclty related to the limited no. of players.

The use of TS poses many problems, as you are aware. The 2 main are:
- Actualy having the software or not
- Having access to a appropriate server.

In terms of TS access, i have found on the TG server, that over half of thsoe using VOIP have TS and those that do not, i have perswaded (heheeee) to get it. The number using VOIP is also extremely high with over 2 out of 3 i would say.
Therefore, the numbers excluded from play with in squad would be significant over the next few days, but give it a week of players joining and me explaining them the wonders of THE TG FORUMS, ts and fireteams, most that do not should have it swifely.
SO in the long run, the exclusion of players due to lack of TS should not be a problem - will always be double the no. of squads not using TS.

The issue ot actauly TS server is more of a short term problem. Getting 8 players all on the same TS is difficult to say the least at the moment, again it will improve in the long run once people save the address.
MY reluctance to suggest the TG is for the above post reason and the fact, a serious number are not members.
IF TG is the only allow TS server, this will affectivley make implamentation at the moment, impossible.

HOWEVER once things are up and running, a change over could be done very quickly and easily to the TG server (getting standard TS players to join TG forum).

So overall, i believe i have fully considered the implications of using TS but i beileve the long term befits will wipe the floor of the short term disadavantages. Long term = 2 weeks +.

So i ask you, can i use the given PRM TS server for the next week or so, a short as time is phyically possible to get this up and running becuase i see NO OTHER of getting this going - I do not have the energy/time/support to wait for ever to get this going, NOw or never. Thanks, TG SERVER ROCKS!

LOL, if you want to EVER EVER see this, your only chance is to join the TG forums and then the TG TS server, NOT THE PRM TS server.
On thursdays and Sundays, the Tactical Gamer Server will be running a password night. The password can be aquired on the TG forums if you join up and, realistically, this will be the only real chance to get this going.

NOTE: this idea has been suggested on the TG server before, so TG people are willing and open.

So:, Join the TG forum, get Teamspeak, join the TG TS server, see you Thursdays and Sundays!

P.s rarely dont use fireteams, so if you get a chance to see me in-game, you will be able to get a serious taster as what is COMING!
