Someone suggested adding an APC to US side, I think that is a good idea. And give the LB gunship rockets, as of now he can't take out AA worth a damn - basically a useless thing. I would also take out or completely lower the AA gun at construction. The only thing USMC have going for them is the LB dropping them in, but if that's lost then there is no chance.
I'm not even sure why the AA guns are on the map, there is no air-ground threat, once the troops are on the ground the map is balanced, but if the choppers keep getting shot down then there is no balance. There's more AA guns in muttrah than in Basrah, and there are a-10s and cobras in that map.
But then again I don't think adding an APC would help because the ERYX has such long range, the APC would get taken out before it gets anywhere.

Maybe removing the AAAs and adding in a few pick-up PKMs would solve many problems?

I think a couple of AA emplacements on Muttrah is OK, but right now there is too much AA imo.

This is what I think seems to be the what causes the imbalance; MEC spawns and half of them head to docks flag, they know that the USMC will first come by air, so the first minutes are most likely going to be waiting on the water front with missiles ready to shoot the air trans. US has a hard time beating MEC even so after capturing the first flag at the docks, the linear fighting is a war trying to swim upstream for USMC, while MEC with their camping tents wait for them like rainfall.

Yea, I think the best thing would be making the Docks uncappable by MEC after the USMC take it (like in Al Fallujah).

US needs a spawn point at one of the flags. AAA has little to do with why the US gets owned on that map.

Just give USMC a mapper placed rally point near the docks.

On the 32 map they don't, not sure about 64. Also there is still AA on the docks.

Personally, I like Muttrah.
As USMC we've won maybe 2 or 3 times tops out of the dozens of times we've played, however.
So it is a bit unbalanced. Mostly because chopper pilots kinda suck and little birds are just so freaking weak.
Also, no commander on USMC side means a sure loss.
I'd give the USMC side an APC or two to balance it out.

Maybe Airborne troops in Muttrah? That would be a hell of a lot easyer to get a foothold then. Right now its quite hard to take and hold a flag.. Even with the new patch. MEC can swarm out over all the places and just wait for the squads to appear to blow them away..

muttrah should be removed from all servers tbh, its a nce map but simple stuff that should be fixed is completetly screwing it up. AAS2 should have been the saviour of this map but instead of fixing it properly they've just added one extra capping option for the start which does bugger all to help. The US should be able to take any flag at any time, thats the only way thier Lb's with thier mobility is gonna come into play. For the USMC to win they have to stretch the mec defence out. Even with the hotel added as a capping option with dock this map is still a joke as the mec can just rush to the 2 flags and wait for the LB's to come in and blow them away. If the US could come in and land anywhere then this would be completely stopped. Also why the hell do the mec need 4 AA connons, i mean wen theres more AA than there are choppers you gotta know somethings wrong

All USMC needs to win is 3 good pilots. 2 on the LB and 1 in the Attack Helo.
With good pilots and decent squads you can get onto rooftops and kick their a$$

LOL, that is easier said then done. With the development of rally points, the US should be able to have a foothold in the city, but since this map was developed before they were inplimented, there is no where to put them since the CPs are so close together and there is no cover in the city. So unless the US takes docks, you are pretty much screwed. Even when you take docks though, there isn't any place to put down rally points that are hidden and they are like beacons for the enemy to see across the map when you do.
Also, the only good place I found to put the rally points are in the desert, but that is right next to the construction site and eliminates their effectiveness.
And seriously, I am not going to trust any random pilots to keep a constant flow of people to the shore. Even if you do get those pilots, your SL will die eventually because of no land based spawn, and your team will lose.
This map is too old for PR now and is the old style of play for PR. It has also never been realistic in look or feel, and should go the way of Oasis, Zhangzi Security, and the rest IMO.
And please, someone put up a post or tell the server admins to get rid of it on their servers until it is fixed or something. It just clutters servers up right now.

Despite there being a feeback thread, im gona just let this one fly.
For a planned and thought out tournament match it would be fine(except for one or two excess AA guns about the place). However, Public players cannot be trusted to act properly on open servers. By this i mean highly INexperienced pilots attempting to fly and 1)not making it to the coast or 2) crashing/landing beside an AA gun.
Nothing can be done to this map except an expansion of its size, allowing more choice for the USMC as where to land and move to.
With that said, perhaps, with an increase in CPs with he expansion, perhaps a more liberal for of AAS where pretty much all the MEC flags are cappable except for a couple, those being their most important.
Also, a few thinly spread ammo stashes couldnt hurt.
...mongol...

whats also frustrating is that there is very little room for Rally points, considering that they have to be 75 (btw how much feets is that

) meters away from the flags. There are the hills behind all the flags and occasional spot in the city. Maybe just slightly widening the city, adding one more "row" of buildings for example. A lot of work I know

you can easily push back MEC. you need a good pilot that drops you off right in the east where (fly through the back) the MEC most likely wont expect you, checking all flags for spawnpoints and destroying them while your team takes docks and moves on. keeps them busy. that way you can stretch their defense. another thing would be to drop off 2 or 3 2 to 3 men squads on roofs around park and mosque to keep track of enemy movements and harass them a bit

.
still, it needs a lot of good pilots to do that well. and still, its a hard map for USMC. but its fun playing it so wtf. i dont really mind loosing a round if i had a great time playing (ok getting shot down every time you appoach the coast kinda suxxx but good helo pilots and squad leaders should do the trick).
airborne troops (giving all kits a parachute) would easen the usmc situation also.

ive just come off 24/7 muttrah and people arnt realising that the Market is available to take the minuete the game starts, because it used to just be the Docks. Its really hard now to take the Market because people just wait for the chopper to land or they grab the Support kit and spray away. taking out all the men sat on the sides.

Airborne troops is the best way to fix this if you ask me. Make it that up to ten men can join up with a airborne section and that they have a helo that only they can fly. They would all have parachutes so they can drop in on the enemy's head. I think that this way it dose not give the USMC a super win but just a better chance and the MEC can always shoot down the helo.
