I think mine is at 128 now. The computer cant handle the map at all. Perhaps Ill boost it up to 256 (I've been told that this is not recommended even tho I have a 256 AGP card -Geforce 7800GS-). Ill try it once I get home from work.
other than that I have 1,5 GB RAM and a 3 GHz CPU... and to gloat, a 5.1 speaker system.

Yea thats what I'm saying, its not really the machines its weird its like a cancerous tumor for servers. Slowly or sometimes quickly eating away and killing the server.

I still blame all your p0rn and sh1t you guys download when your not playing.
Keep your pc clean and it will play clean.

It runs just as well as other maps for me, with the exception of when I make really low strafing runs with the A10s, the sparks can sometimes cause a bit of lag. That has little to do with the map, though.
1gb ram
GF6800gt 128mb
don't understand why you guys have so many problems... other maps (especially maps with lush vegetation) have a tendancy to run worse for me.

I run a mid-range system, and Al Basrah runs fine for me. That's probably because I don't try to max out every setting the book, though I still run most;y everything on high. If you ask me, we should remove the A10s so we can tone down the draw distance just a bit, might help alot of people that way.
Personally though, I enjoy the sheer level of detail in this map. I actually wish there were more objects to be honest.

Silky smooth for me - please increase the draw distance to 800m... I long for the day.
The only lag I experience is server-side, and that is when I get that "There is a problem with your connection" BS. And when I get it, almost everyone else does at the same time. It seems to happen on Al-Basrah mostly, esp. on the Devfile.com server (but that is where I play most).
Specs
Windows 2003 R2 64-bit
2GB DDR2 RAM @ 667Mhz
AMD 3500+ AM2
GF7600GS 256MB
Running at 1280x1024, 4x AA, 8x AF
Not exactly top of the range - Basically a mid-range setup.
All settings on High except textures and effects (medium) - I could easily run it all on high if I moved to 32-bit XP.
Cmon ppl, BF2 is old in the world of gaming... Its time to get a GF8800 for BF3...

Whenever I get out of a APC I lag, I think its a PR problem.
