Yeah, but then you would need a parachute to come down from there...and only Spec Ops have them in PR, if Im correct...

Well, unless you tweaked the Paradrop spawn thing, so it would spawn players with parachutes on, untill they reached the ground, but the players wouldnt have to carry the chutes...

Devs have already replied to suggestions like this and said artillary in game can't be changed, it's hardcoded.

Hehe, after whatching those videos, I can imagine a few PR scenes with a Spectre gunship.

Nighttime. Insurgents sneaking through the city, RPGs at the ready, waiting for a passing tank.
Insurgent 1: "Hey, guys, did you hear that?"
Insurgent 2: "Yeah, I get that way when I eat beans, sorry."
Insurgent 1: "No, not that. Like an engine."
Insurgent 3: "OH SHIT! RUN! WE'RE ALL GONNA D-"

At some point there has to be a decision made whether or not this game is going to be about simulating squad combat accurately, or about plinking away at pixel-sized infantry from miles away. I prefer the former, and so far from what I can tell PR does the genre a service by merely existing without c130s. This is one situation that I'm glad BF2's engine is so limited.

Before I put this topic up I did a search and found nothing on this subject. Im not going to go back to the beginning of the forum thread just to find it. Anyway I think we went a bit off topic here I still want to know from more people what they think. Just kinda heard from Bosco. I think u said it was hardcoded so I guess not but I really think that some sort of gatling gun arty would be cool. And if u use the rounds that are from the A10 as the effect but maybe a bit bigger man...... can we say awesome.

Automated arty can't be changed, but they are working on player controlled arty like mortars.

Guys, this has been suggested before and there isn't really an "easy" (in terms of putting a C-130 in-game) way to implement it.

And yes, the AC-130 Spooky/Spectre gunships only operate at night ever since one which stayed on station in Iraq (1991) was shot down by an SA-7.

It'd be nice but if its hard coded oh well. We don't need a manual C130 either it'd kill gameplay.

BF 2142....when I played the demo, I didnt even thought about THAT being the 22nd century artillery...looked like some 70's disco effect....EA :roll:
