Okay, I voted to have it...but I have 2 ideas for it.
1. Just to display locational damage...I mean this as there is a spreadeagle pic in the bottom corner and that will let you know if you have be hit in the arm, leg, or chest areas.
2. Have the color of the damages areas go show roughly how bad you need a medic...so if your parts are red get a medic (low health) or yellow (medium health)....and as you bleed the body will start turning red everywhere...so you know how long you have to track down a medic.
I know that this stuff can't work exactly as I put it, but it is an example
...cause I don't need to know my exact health as much as where I am shot at (since I can't feel it...thank god) and how lond I have til I am dead from bleeding.

Until 'another' health bar is implemented, in the interests of playability, the current health bar should be left in. And to go off-topic with the other posters, the weapons that don't have sights should have crosshairs, in the interests of playability. I've highlighted that word as I deem it important enough that realism shouldn't get in the way of it.
Fair enough, as some people have mentioned, that a rifle round will near-kill at times, but what about the grey areas regarding grenade shrapnel and the outer limits of its range? Without a working health bar or alternative, there is no way to determine how badly you were injured when a fragmentation device has exploded. Or the pistol round in the big toe that was mentioned. Unfortunately, the health bar is a necessary evil.

I think the health bar should continue to be left out.
With it left out it adds the "panic" i have seen in players and makes them hold back and wait for medic support.
Putting it back will make players much more confident to take risks.
I think its great the way its been done. I would just like better screen effect on the "bleed out" so you know when your going to die very soon haha

bleeding to death should be slowed down imo anyway. if you get shot in the arm or whatever your going to tie it up until your assisted anyway to slow down the bleeding. Also if the 'hole' is so big the blood flows out then your wound would be so critical that, well your in a critical situation. If your bleeding and can stil shoot - look - hear all fine then the bleeding would not kill you as quick as it should in PR. Its a needed addittion but iits over the top.
Still plenty of time to tweak it

That makes it all the more exciting! Well, to me anyway.solodude23 wrote:I know, that wasn't the point really. The point of it was that it gets ya kinda nervous, notknowing whether your gonna make it or not....BlakeJr wrote:Well, if you're all that's left of your team... Does it matter? You will either die before you cap the flag or you will live long enough to cap it.
Knowing your exact health status won't change that.
But, if you're worried, kill an enemy medic and steal his kit!![]()

everyone has great ideas, and i think everyone would love to see the picture of your guy in the bottom left showing red yellow and green for arm legs and chest, thats a great idea, but for now i like solodudes idea, just something simple that gives you a general idea of how hurt you are.

Re: GET INVOLVED - Health bars?
if its done this way you rawk the socks!!! and have my vote for prez!!![R-DEV wrote:Paladin-X]While we are trying to look at another way of implementing the health indicator (ex a color shading icon indicating health green > yellow > red or something like that) should we leave out the health bar as is? Assume that it can't be tweaked and that either we have the health bar as in bf2 or none at all.
Note: Since weapon damage was increased, you can pretty much bet that if you survived the first shot, the next shot will kill you and that you should seek medical attention immediately. Also, when you're at about 40% of your health, you begin to 'bleed' which is indicated by the red hit indicators and the grunting/ouch sounds every second or so.
Note: However this poll turns out, please be advised that we may not go with what the majority is.

Is anyone else here fond of the way Silent Heroes went about it?
Silent Heroes used 2 methods, even though the second method was really not meant to show you your health status, but to cripple you.
The first method was a pulse indicator. Now, the indactor was animated, but did not work as a real one should. Instead, it started off a grey to show full health, and went to red to show wounded.
The second method, is much like the one Hailo suggested. which was that the screen got darker depending on your health status. The sides of your screen would darken until you had a sort of tunnel vision. This is the only mod I've seen do this, and it really got you to find a medic whenever you where hurt.
if something like this was to be implemented, I woudlr ather only the tunnel vision be added.
