I would love to be able to check my ammo, you should at least be able to pull the mag and see if you have more than 5 rounds in there.

I would also love it if you could keep your mags, instead of dropping that mag after reload it just gets pushed to end of the line. Or if it is possible to consolidate your mags (like the firearms mod for hl1).

Biggest one is belt fed guns...you can see the belt of ammo. I cant tell you how many times I have jumped on a mounted gun for it to go click or fire 1-2 bullets and then out. There needs to be a way to check your ammo on belt fed guns, at least something that says you are low.

Like the belt accually feeding into the gun? It dosn't do that currently, it just moves back and forwards real fast.

As for checking a mag, take a real mag that's full, and look down. You see one bullet (maybe part of another along the side). Now fire a bunch of times. Look in...one bullet...

An M-16 mag has a small hole in the side where the mag catch grabs it, if you pull the mag and have more than 5 rnds you'll see brass in the "window" less looks dark. BUT you have to pull your mag, something you would not want to do in combat. IRL you shoot until the bolt stays back then quickly reload (much practice at that). If you are working properly as a team you should never be the only one firing at any given target, so there is little chance your entire fire team runs out at the same time.

Now if you have a gun like the G36 which has plastic mags, you can see exactly how many rounds are left.

And as mentioned, shooting a belt fed gun you can see roughly how much you have left.

Or you jump into the gun to see the enemy with an RPG reloading right in front of you... you shoot BANG BANG CLICK before you can walk the tracers onto the target you're out of ammo, he turns and pops that fresh RPG right up your ...

I know it doesnt do that in game (and prob can't) but in real life you can so just something that would mimic this in the game. Be it a low ammo warning flashes on screen or your voice screams low ammo or 5 rounds left, just something.

Im guessing you havent looked into a real double stack magazine, I will try to take a picture for you when I get home but my camera sucks at close up shots. You can see quite a few down, like I said about 5 sometimes more (depending on the mag).

I don't know how many times this has gotten me killed. I have noticed alot of people will unload on a mounted gun and then when it is time to reload they just jump off and leave. Then someone else is stuck with the dreaded click when they needed it the most.

RL soldiers are almost -always- on singleshot only.

RL soldiers count their rounds, this is called Project Reality, so need i say more.

Also.. you do have a lot of rounds, so just change the clip.

If anyone who is a rifleman hasn't mastered round counting, they shouldn't be allowed near a sniper rifle.

the lack of a round display on a magazine is the -FINEST- element of PR, we dont need some automated arcade style element put back in, and i am 100% confident we wont see it back in either.
