There you go, simple as that.

(will they kill if they hit someone on the head? [on the head son, on the head!])

:-P lol.

What would be the ace in the hole tactic for the Civies is the following:

1. Find a none threating car for them to get in.

2. Have tagos put an I.E.D. in the hidden parts.

3. Have the civilian drive to a Corp position.

4. Here is the beauty.

If the Corp destroy him/her without identifing the enemy, they lose.
If the Corp waits and trys identify him and let them get closer, they lose when the I.E.D. goes off.

This in a nut shell tells you the extreme conditions the Collition is up against. When the enemy is surronded by civilians and using them to their advantage it is real tough.

Compound that with the religous aspect and wanting to die for the cause, it gets even more dicey.

I'm pretty sure in real life that if a civililan car sped up to a US outpost like on Basrah, and stopped in the middle of it, they'd get F'ING SMOKED. If not annhilated with gunfire even before they got in. That's one of those shoot-first, deal with it later situations.

Unless we're talking about Sim City levels of traffic here, I think the USMC will treat every vehicle as hostile. If it gets close, it dies.

Destroying a car with a civilian in it will not give you a penalty.

I totally agree.

What I was invisioning was a slow car.

:-(
Bummer.

I was hoping the Corp could have the option to chase down Civis and arrest them.

I was just getting ready to post how cool it would be for the USMC to have the option to damage the tires while giving chase, slow them down so they get wedged in somwhere or come to a full stop, and make them get out of cars and arrest them.

Sort of like G.T.A.

The tricky part would of been coding away for the jarheads to force them out of the car.

___

But none of that matters now.

How many hit points will rocks take of soilders?

Iam thinking 1 or 2 tops.

Damn... Civilians are going to be so awesome... So many new options ^^

1 max, although I guess it depends on the size of the rock and the speed of the throw. And if I'm playing USMC and some civilian throws a rock at me, I'll shoot at the ground by his feet. If he throws another one I'll put a bullet in him simple as :)

Ohh man, the servers are going to be busting Read, BUSTING!!

What with all the CO changes and the restructure of the kits.

BUSTING!!!!

I can guratee you players will be laughing their *** off while playing civilian.
It is going to be so fun it will be sinful.

Jarheads are going to be laughing their *** off chasing down civis on foot and knifing... uhh arresting them.

For example:

Jarhead named Han Solo will chase down a civi and hoar a battle cry.

Civi will turn corner and then Han will turn corner.

Han will be staring at a mean tango squad.

Han will **** his pants and turn around the other way and run back.
___

One thing this set-up will allow will cause the Corp to be a little more conseverative in assaulting buildings.

Throwing in a frag or launching a grenade will be a little too gung ho.

As someone already said, the flash bang would work well here.
Useing this will allow the Corp to blind the civi and any tangos hiding with him.

I'd like to see a compact car like a yugo featuring a trunk. Like the merlin, the rear hatch could be opened & closed by the driver. 5 positions in the car; driver, 3 passangers, then the trunkmonkey. A player in the trunk position would be laying down on their side and would be able to use a weapon, if they have one. This would allow for "checkpoint" style play where the USMC has to capture a specific insurgent target who would attempt to pass through the checkpoint by force or stealth (preferably stealth.)

Obviously an unarmed class in a first person shooter is an experiment hehe. So there will be stuff to learn and tweaks to make.

These aren't Civilians who have jobs and such.. innocently going about their ways.. they are Civilian collaborators. But as per the current real world issues in dealing with an Insurgency, you simply can't turn an entire country into a sheet of glass and bounce advertising off of it onto the clouds in the stratosphere. Having the civilian element makes the conventional army jobs *much* more difficult. That's what we want to get at with this class.

And I am pretty sure that the Insurgency will be much less effective without them and we'll tweak it to the point that the class is unconventionally fun to play and critical to the Insurgency.

I'm looking forward to over zealous conventional army soldiers chasing them down and running into an ambush :p

Insurgency should be able to put away there guns, in real life insurgency blends in with civilians.

make a squad of civillians only, just follow round a squad of US troops, stand infront of them when they want to fire.... ;)

You are a civilian, you got insurgents friends on your squad

they are hiding inside a building near your position

You saw a US humvee passin by, you trow some rocks

A Marine comes to capture you, you run inside the building and tell the insurgents that a marine is comming

He enter the building just to be ambushed by the insurgents who also fires a RPG on the humvee and a firefight starts

Teamwork with Civilians and insurgents will be the key for the victory (and fun)
