I think he meant it as a joke but i suppose it could work. But if this was implemented then we would have to have some kind of mine dectector for engineers or somesuch. That just seems like a pain in the *** seeing as how most people dont notice my mines in the middle of the road anyway. :)

1) Dig.
2) Fill.
3) Repeat.

Alright, I'll play.

Shovel Uses:
Fixing those destroyable buildings, and others which may be added.
Example: A sandbag wall with X capability of sustaining damage after which it is destroyed and provides no more cover. using the shovel (refilling the sandbags) repairs it.

Digging up mines which others have buried. (just working with what I've got).

An Ersatz Weapon (I think we've already got that one)

Digging out vehicles that have got stuck in sand or mud. Think: random areas of terrain that "mire" a wheeled vehicle, and require application of a shovel.

As an alternative to the wrench in the sense that you may use the wrench to repair vehicles, but the shovel to repair commander assets. (Don't ask me why! I'm just making suggestions).

Removing IEDs.

I could go on, but I've run out of ideas at this point.

Pick-up kits should be digged in the ground so you gotta use the shovel find them. They have to be marked with an "X" and a "Dig here" sign.

Beating chavs senseless and then burying them with them still having no idea what is going on.

oh! and digging up a load of rocks that you can carry around in a bag/sock, when you see an enemy it's ROCK BAG in the face and then shovel to finish 'em off.

when a player dies, if you bury their corpse before it disappears from the game world, your team does not lose a ticket.
