Actually, I doubt its going to be too complicated to make "unique tanks" because there isn't really any radical changes. Of course, one might call the Laser defense thing "radical" but all you are doing is making a "gun" on top of the turret that makes ppl see the "flashbag effect" if they get "shot" by it. As for the M1 buckshot, your just making the turret shoot out a bunch of "machinegun bullets" at the same time, and for the t90 missile, you are just making it shoot a guided missile like the tow. otherwise, your just tweaking some of the hitboxes/damage.Darkpowder wrote:Rather too complicated to add i would imagine, that is why the MBTs are largely equalised in the game.
Of course, making a mod takes a lot of time, but they really should consider making such changes. Maybe not immediately, but in .7 or .8.

Type 98:

Type 99:

As you can see, the biggest external differences are the arrow-head add-on armor in the turret front and the ERA tiles on the hull front. The changes to the model wouldn't be that big, and for the most part (ie. add-on armor excepted) the current model is accurate.
Type 98 was expected to become the Chinese 3rd generation MBT, and so that's what they had in BF2. However contrary to expectations the Chinese didn't put it into production but continued developing it further, resulting in the Type 99. Thus Type 98 is only a prototype that is not in operational use. The operational front-line MBTs are the Type 99 and Type 96 that are both produced at a rate of a few dozen per year.

solid ideas there, they would be awesome to have, would make the PLA a great force to playGunwing wrote:Actuly the Tank in BF2 is the type-99 main battle tank. It's just when BF2 was made the people doing the reaserch called it by it's prototype name the type-98. It would need a simple reskin and mabe a model touch up to fit the real type-99 main battle tank but other than that it's fine the way it is.
The PLA is missing many of their new vehicles that were announced last year:
