There are way too many noob tubers

When someone randomly pops out of cover 5 feet away and noobtubes you, then that is "noob tubing."

If someone is 50 meters away and arches it and places one well round killing you, that is using the grenade launcher.

Right now it is way too easy to just use the GL up close and it isn't fair at all and no matter what anyone says, that is a vanilla tactic. We came to this game to get away from those tactics as well and actually have some well thoughtout fire fights.

Sure, the insurgents are not meant to be in prolonged fire fights, but if they solely use rockets or grenade launchers, this game becomes Quake.

From 5 feet out, you could've been killed by a grenade, molotov cocktail, RPG, or AT, so that argument is moot. I think what the complaint here is that people are upset that someone didn't stand toe-to-toe with them in a firefight.

"He ducked behind cover, and when he came back he used an explosive to kill me! He wasn't using his rifle anymore even though I was!!"

C'mon. That's perfectly a perfectly acceptable tactic.

No, the argument is that it is a totally unrealistic tactic and vanilla one at that, and the way the grenade launcher is setup isn't even realistic. The grenade doesn't denote from only 5 feet or less, and the grenade doesn't bounce. And even when it does bounce, 70% of the time it just hits the wall and then drops at your feet, killing you both.

Show me a traditional or even non-traditional army who does that and tell me it is realistic.

no when i get killed by a GL i think wow that took some skill because usually its form quite a distance.

However when some random idiot runs out of some jungle bushes infront of your whole squad and drops + pops one off 5m away taking out 2-3 of you that is incredibly cheap.

the thing about teh Light anti tank:

1) its meant to piece armour, therefore it wont have a large splash. its designed to punch through armour and kill whats inside.

2) if they are used at distance im not bothered but again when soemone runs up to you and shoots from 5m away it sucks hard and ruins the realism factor of the game.

GRAW has a great N00b tube system. If its to close (IE you hit a wall or target within a few feet) it disables the nade and just wastes your ammo.

Although to be honest, I dont see it as a problem. I suppose the alternative could be a puff of green smoke that heals everyone around - or dont get spotted.

Look to the 203s in America's Army if you need inspiration on gimping them to a fair degree. I love the GLs but they are barely being incorporated into teamwork at all (only been playing a few months so I don't know what they looked like before .4 though). They are extremely useful when assaulting a hard point. Launch grenade, launch smoke to cover your squad in getting close for hand grenades, and then move up yourself. I can't think of a better weapon that could be used in a support role. I know I've personally been cheap with them before, but I know my weapon is not in GL mode all of the time. I couldn't believe it the other day when I got fired at with one point blank, it missed and the enemy went behind a corner to reload only to fire again to kill me. Considering he had an AK-47 attached to that launcher (and yes we might as well put it that way) it was unbelievable. It was sad and far too reminiscent of vanilla Karkand. Whatever the devs do, its very good news to hear they're committed to addressing the problem.

Grenade launcher is overpowered, yes. But Light AT isn't, at soldier has got only 1 so there is no ownage.

Also its blast radius is just small compared to RL. I watched a Navy Seals operation on TV in South America. They were attacking a hangar with lots of enemies in it. Two Navys were K.I.A. so they decided to fire 1 AT4 rocket to the hangar. The result was that most of the enemies died or got wounded critically, the rest surrendered.

So IRL it is really an INFATRY PWNER.

I don't have much of a issue with the AT class because they do only have 1 rocket, and they are known to use them to bust a bunker or blow a hole in a wall in necessary.

The grenade launchers are a bit out of hand though, but are also very necessary to have in he game as well. Might need to limit the grenade launcher to an officer kit.

The medics are a bit out of control, and should be limited as well..........or give them a light submachince gun to limit the power of that class.

Witch brings me to the heavy AT kit, I would love to use this kit but since very few people really take vehicles and while your waiting to find a vehicle its very hard to keep up with your squad and stay alive with just a pistol I usually refrain unless there is a dire need for the kit on the BF. That being said I do know it's one wrong move away from making it an Uber kit for 1 release, but it would be nice to explore another possible weapon option than just a pistol,.....maybe a shotty here or some other light short range gun.

This is how it should be. Under 30-40 meters it shouldn't go off period, and I believe the RPG functions in a similar way (the old RPG-2s did anyway). The insurgents shooting RPGs from 5 feet is the ultimate form of n00btube on Al Basrah.

DO you think you can do different for LAN? Sometimes when I practice flying or filming with a group of guys, I cant get things done right...with all the long spawns and then the times goes and mission over.

Tbh i don't see the difference, when it comes to the RPG anyway. If I'm behind someone with an RPG I'll use it for pure style points. Every modern combat film always features some guy getting hit by an RPG anyway lol!

I'm sorry to say it, but I agree with you concerning v0.5. Hasn't been as fun as earlier versions, but I didn't wanna sound as if I was complaining. I hear ya, please find a way to lock down those servers so they can't nerf importants aspects of play.

Speaking of noob tubes though. Grenade launchers could use some adjusts with respect to distance, and accuracy. It just don't seem the get any distance at all with them. Not to mention they just seem to fly around wildly. It's anyones guess where that thing is gonna land once you fire it. I'm not sure why they seem to veer off so far to left and right. It don't seem to matter if you are prone or zoomed in, or even if you stand still for 20 seconds. Just my 2 cents

i wouldnt make teh class limited because it does have its positive aspects.

eg. 3 squad members popping nades and smoke into a really well defended position really maximises chances of success.

unfortunantly i think its a problem where the few are going to ruin it for the many,

Uhm, they are damn accurate when you use them right.
I managed to kill a guy on the roof east of Gardens on EJOD with one 203 shell from the far west hills.

you guys all say noob and pwned to much, stop it. words like, dominated or faggot work much better and dont leave you looking like such a nerd.

the nade launcher should be used alot, its good for mec sense the G3 is a dog and the US have M4 (m4 is where all the real losers gather) the gayest thing about it is when you go to shoot and the comes out at a 70 degree angle and you kill yourself or kills the rest of the squad which is 10 feet infront of you.

why the hell does it bounce off things?!?! they dont really do that, they hit and blow up, the only reason something like that would happen is if they had a timed fuse or something. i could throw a rock more accurate then the nade launchers. just leave it how it is.

o ya about the short spawn time servers...
let that continue, keeps all the junk out of the rest of the servers.
