Question: Other than helicopters with long range anti helicopter missles...

do helicopters EVER engage each other in real combat, in any war, ever?

I hate how helicopters end up dogfighting in crappily balanced bf2 maps, i swear there has never once been a heli vs heli fight with conventional missles at such a close range as we constantly see in bf2.

The apche is really a tank-hunter, while the cobra is an infantry support chopper. I like having the latter rather than former in bf..

Fig: Im not sure they ever -have- but they are certainly designed to, why they are often equiped with stingers or sidewinders on the wingtips. THe russians even designed a chopper specifically for 'dogfighting' m-29 or something?

The french uses minstrals A2A missiles, and the Russians uses AA-11 Archer missiles on there KA-52s.
