Consider changing your effects volume when you enter heavy duty viechles(anything up from an APC).
I notice that
anyone in an A10 just don't respond.
people in Cobras say "you say something?".
People in tanks say "Did you say 5 or fire? speak up a little".
People on foot say "Roger".
....People 6ft under say "Fvk1Ng sh1tty hit box d3t3ction!"

ok, i haven't been playing for that long, but here's something i find really annoying:
DON'T OVERUSE THE SMOKE GRENADE
sure it's nice to have some smokes at choke points and stuff but we don't need 5 people to throw their 10 smokes at the same spot. last night my squad was capping the dock on Mustrah City (or however you spell it) and this other squad threw all of their grenade around the flag.
The result:
- extreme lag
- can't see ANYTHING
- slower reaction time
- enemy comes and knife us all
basically my squadmates die one by one and i have no idea where the killer is until i see his knife --> too late.

LOL!! so true.. I guess my on board audio is pretty crappy, nobody can EVER hear me, I've heard "speak up your mic is low" SO MANY TIMES NOW.. it gets annoying.. I think everyone just has their audio effects turned way too high.. thats why I hate playing with random players using VOIP and try to get a group together on IRC to join vent and play

What distances between the 3 soldiers in front (top+ sides) have you tried out in the PR environment?

Regards

Mike

Unfortunately, I've tried this only once, as I said, on iGi Teamwork night 2, but it worked amazingly well, gave me the best PR night ever.

We tried it on Muttrah, CP Abadan and Mashtur, and as I can remember now, distance between players varies on environment (map), only important thing is to keep that distance safe (to not allow that enemy nade blows more then one soldier). Also, one more thing, in the battle some soldier positions may exchange, but it is very important to always keep all those viewing directions covered.

I must mention one thing more, this wasn't my idea to implement this "squad movement" in PR. It was glorious idea of my SL that night, mr. BlueSkunk, and he said this after battle:

I find that voip or any other form of communication(TS, Vent) between squad members is extreamly important and one of the keys to haveing a well functioning squad. communication is the key!

cant say how many times i have gotten realy frustrated with squad mates because they are not reporting contacts or wether they are down or not eventhough they are using voip its hard to stay focused and checking your minimap every few seconds to see what is going on with your squad when you are under full scale attack.

1.helps identify enemy targets where from and how many
2.easy to accpet orders or give orders, explain tactics and so on.
3.Helpfull to report if ur down where from you were shoot if your in need of a medic or ammo.

so my advice to everyone buy a mic it will create a whole new pr experiance for you! at least it did for me

Never attack directly from your RP. What do I mean by this? Lets say that you put your RP South of the place you want to attack, then you should attack it for the East, West, or even form the North. I've been accused by the enemy teams that we were attacking of glitching the RP in a rock/hillside because the couldn't find it by using this tactic.

Some times there is too much communication that I can't hear anything but voices in my head. j/k

Maintain radio silence unless its very important, such as enemy.

Sl can speak as much as they want.

Some formations and stuff like that, mainly how to pull-out of combat. Notice that they keep firing when pulling out, the ammo consupmtion will be high but as you know, people will not put there heads up to return fire. I find that this tactic (alot of lead in general direction of enemy, last know position etc) works fine.

'[R-MOD wrote:Mongolian_dude']Even VOIP can be annoying as hell when you are point man in the brush.
I think i make a good pointman because i can recognise any weapon fired, its direction and range....But thats ALL sound right there.
A nice little feature(but clearly with health issues lol) is that i have my sound relatively high so i can hear eac hand every foot step, the terrain he is on and the driection headed.
Hell! I can even hear things on the ground from an LB sometimes lol. Theres usaly an AK101 trying to bust me from the side, but he just lit the beacon saying "me next!".
....anywho, sound is important for me.

What sound card you running dude?

Yeah smoke nades can be annoying if players don't deploy them correctly. The idea in the get the smoke in front of the enemies face not your squadmates. You have to put your smoke nades right in front on onto the enemy postion. Not 20 feet from your own squad. It gives the enemy to much space to get to you. Get that smoke way out there fellas, far away from your team in right into the enemies faces so they can choke on the smoke not your team. :)

the "nest"

greetings,

recently me and a buddy have quite successfully used what we call a "nest". we use that if our squad is spread out or split, therefore no medic available, and we are just 2 shooters (ideally rifleman/ammo) buddying up.

purpose:

compensate for a missing medic in your vicinity and keep alive longer.

how to:

we use that if we're both rifleman/ammo with an advantage of firepower (more frags and smoke, faster reloads) but a disadvantage of healing capacity (i.e. no medic).

2 riflemen/ammo choose a resupply spot, usually right inside a firing position. we both drop 2 ammo bags (it seems that standing on 4 ammo bags reloads your gear quicker) and our 2 first aid kits.

then we wait a bit until we both have re-loaded our first aid kits, only then do we open fire.

advantages:

if one of us gets hit he is basically sitting right on top of 2 first aid kists for an immediate fix. plus we both have one more each to hand out if necessary as well.

that way we get patched up rather qiockly while still having our rifles in hand to engage and can fall back to alternate firing positions quickly avoiding elimination of flanking enemies (usually ;-) )

it doesn't take long to set that nest up and you can basically make countless ones with the rifleman/ammo kit.

works well in hold/secure situation.

works for an individual rifleman/ammo as well, just a bit slower.

disadvantages:

it obviously is useless if you get critically shot and would need to be de-fibrillated and revived by a medic.

works less well in cqb situations.

conclusion:

if we decide to compromise medical support for firepower and both go rifleman (or if the situation just develops in such a way) we do get away with injuries fairly well and find this "nest" a usefull little technique to keep alive longer.

hope it works for some of you, too.

Ive seen people doing field dressing resupply from ammo bags a lot...some hate it though...I even do it myself, while rest provide cover...sort of reminds players taking cover and patching themselves...

One piece of advise is that the entire squad doesn't have to open fire at once when entering combat. Sometimes it helps if one or two squadmembers hold their fire and get into a better position, or flank the enemy. Not firing at first contact means that the enemy might not know your numbers, so while they fire at the two guys downrange, you can get into a better position and pop them in the head before they know what's going on.

Also, do use your smoke grenades. I find that there's more people who don't use them than there's people who overuse them. They can be very useful when attacking fortified positions, as they can render any bunker useless. They're also good against enemy armor when you have no AT capabilities (or even if you do). Throwing smoke all along a road, and then getting behind the treeline puts you at an advantage over any tank or APC.

Cause medics are so lacking in some games, you really have to depend on yourself.

"7Gates", I'm on a wall, suddenly I hear "Starlight Required". At the base of the wall is a medic and a rifleman. I got two kills!

The nest is a great idea !
I have done it but never with 2 people.
Smoke...... you want the smoke to blind the enemy.
So, for instance, on the docks flag you want the smoke outside the warehouse if you are defending so they have to run in blind and can't shoot you from rooftops etc.
You can also throw smoke, wait for it, advance 20-30m and repeat. This creates a smoke corridor that other troops can follow.
If you are running hell bent for leather at a flag and know there are friendlies coming behind you, drop smoke as you run so they will move in cover even if you get killed.

Yeah, im pretty often leading squad which uses sneaking, every time however i need to teach all squad members not to shoot everything. Most of ppls opens fire when they see first enemy even if we are in enemy mainbase 4vs20, and often i also have to kick ppls who doesnt learn. Sneaking is really powerfull way to get heavily guarded control points and can be really funny to be behind 3 enemies who doesnt see u, in bi ming beta version sneaking rocks :) Once knifed whole squad without em noticing untill dying hehe

Any tips for when you can't see who in the hell is shooting at you, and you keep getting killed over and over and over?

Get behind some cover and call in an airstrike? If one isn't available, ***** about it to HQ.
