SL's SOFLAMS when holding left put of something a 2 man jet ( 2 man just so the pilot can fly and the bomber can look down and steer the bomb like a free falling TV missile). The smart bomb could be errorously placed and it would require the SL to have a constant beam on the target as a Human flow jet flew overhead (not one of those suicidal dive bombing things) and drop the bomb on the target.

It wouldn't be locking onto the vehicle or whatever but mearly be given a target box where the SOFLAMS were pointing. I dont know if there is a way to make the SOFLAMS to shoot out something for the jets to lock onto but i think that could work out well.

Also if there is already a plan for this and I am just wasting my time... thats fine. I bet its better.

I think helo gunners should be able to target an area with their sight and guide a missile in say every 10 min? Thats what its like with our helicopters now with the sidewinders right?

A good idea to introduce LGB's. But I really do not know how they will be useful in PR. In reality, the aircraft fly at about 15000-20000ft, which means they have alot more time to acquire and adjust target aquisition.

Think about it in PR... You can hardly see 1km in front of you because of engine limitations. You have to fly low, fast, which gives you little seconds to find, acquire and successfully bomb a target with an LGB.

I dont think its going to work... even if the backseat pilot is doing all this.

In 0.6, jets can fly at about a max of 16,404 ft (5,000m). If smart-bombs become a reality, then this will allow jets to be useful at high altitudes...well, high for bf2 engine standards that is. Additionally, with smart-bombs, the short view distance will become a non-factor, if hopefully, they can be allowed to lock targets from that great of a distance.

I love the 0.6 view distance. Aquiring targets and engaging is very easy now. If I have laser guided bombs, then they don't have a chance.

Thats great, tons of bass, great graphics and atmosphere. The A10 has a laser guided bombs in kashan 0.6, dont know if it works but Ive done similar stuff manually with commander guidance
