Yeah if its a matter of having no change or just some increased effects that are already in place...then Jerry rig it like navalLord suggest...anything that just disables the dude I just shot enough so that he can't just return fire and run like speedy gonzalaz. I def dont need knockback etc...slow them down, jackup their vision/aim to make sure they aren't headshotting me :) Maybe put a little of that E-LSD on the bullets...when they strike, its party time :)

JL wrote:lots of good ideas.. but one I don't agree with, being put into prone position with your gun out? you are in the perfect position to return fire? just like most vanilla players already do, being prone will be exactly what they normally do.. what about kneeling or crouched with your gun away, if there was a way to have no weapons out at all? so you have to select the weapon again?

JL the thing about getting sent into prone when you are hit is more than JUST that...as it is now prone is good, cause it allows you to shoot back with laser accuracy. Now imagine when you get hit good, then your vision is jacked (so no perfect return shots) AND you get sent prone...now you can't shoot back very well at all, are stationary target and have little stamina. This will make things ALOT more real, trust me...going prone when you get shot will NOT be helping you...and its realistic...most guys when they get shot fall down I would imagine.

True, i was thinking exactly that.

Force prone or crouch can be some 50-50% chance or choice upon the bullet hit localisation...
Holster weapon was idea to prevent insta return fire...

This would really force players to play carefully, and not running and gunning.

'[R-CON wrote:DJJ-Terror']well god effect would be that bullet hit makes you:

1. insta stamina loss,
2. switch player to prone position and
3. to holster his weapon...

followed with:
1. strong hartbeat sound and
2. some vision/camera shake
(effect - like when you shot in front of your self verry close)

This is a good idea but i see no point in going to prone/crouch. If you loose all your stamina, you will still be an easy target when you can only walk away with blurred vision

edit: I personally don't like the knock back effect seems to movie like for my taste ;)

Yeah I think for the sake of fun (wow how often do you hear that in here) I think throwing someone into prone might not be best...but who knows, as long as the shooter is disabled from sprinting and firing perfect shots back...then I'm happy! I really really hope this goes into .6

Also with this, it makes the pistol somewhat effective. Right now you might as well throw rocks at the person.

-Or- you could add in an feign death animation upon receiving critically low health instead. You would look dead for some (#?) seconds and couldn't return fire. The shooter wouldn't know whether he's landed the kill shot or not right away. Chances are good though that most shots would simply kill. There would still be some room for mistakes if the shooter doesn't pay attention.

YES! Exactly why I want to see this, it allows for some more realistic tactics to actually be useful.....not just "well you shoot me...I shoot you, whom ever has the biggest gun or headshot wins".

What are the odds of this getting into .6 build Dev's?? For me its this and proning (I know might never happen) as the top two gameplay issues.

Stamina sounds great, but no knocking back, bullets don't do that when they hit a body, even a shotgun up close will just tear holes and the victim will drop straight down, must be enough soldiers here to confirm my comments.

absolutley.
Public generally accepts Hollywood style effects as normal, wich is faaaar from reality.

Not being able to sprint with your main weapon out?! Stops the Vanilla Run and Gun.

Only sprint with knives? (Everyone runs faster with a knife in their hand!)

And mythbusters busted too :p

According to the laws of physics, to colliding objects always slow down.

Thought to drag this up instead of creating a new topic.
So how about making it so that when you get hit by a bullet the lsd (bleed) effect kicks in and lasts for about, say 3 seconds. And also removing sprint for that same amount of time would be nice, though not as important as the bleed effect.

This, if possible, would make returning fire after you have been hit very hard, if not impossible. Just like how it should be.
Maybe it would be possible to code it so that everytime you lose 10+ health the bleed effect is activated for 3 seconds.

A buddy of mine was telling me a story in reference to someone whoe got shot in the head with 9mm and sprinted off...only to die later after finally realizing he was hit. So I definitely think their needs to be a more dabilitating effect for being hit, but maybe it needs to be on a percentage basis. So like 70% of the time you will lose most of your stamina and have vision effects if struck in the chest. Thats just one idea, I'm sure there are better ones out there.

-Loss of stamina depending on hit location (60+ % ?) and force back to walk speed for a moment? (so they'd have to release their sprint button and press it again once the forced walk wears off)
-Also, possible implementation of the camera jerk (when hit on arms and upper body)?

An object in motion tends to stay in motion? :p

Hold on there El_Vikingo, your not endorsing people running with knives!!! That is so dangerous  ;)

All of these ideas about bullet impact effects sound great but from what the Devs are saying it's a pain to code. I would happy with simply loosing all your stamina for 5 seconds. I can't stand guys running off to cover or worse jumping around and hitting me with the 40mm grenade launcher :x grrrr

Cheers,

Agreed with longbow, lets shoot high...but we AT LEAST need more of an effect if we can't get all the extra cool stuff (camera jerk, knockback).
