Yeah boats are cool if you like loud, slow, unarmored transport down a road with absolutely no cover

^ which is why they work so well, most players like you (nothig personal) just dismiss them off hand, giving the illusion that no body would even bother with them, meaning that you can 'pwn' with them.

Erm, whenever im in a squad and we hear a boat, it takes about 5 seconds of small arms fire for everyone to be dead or the boat to be blown up. They dont have this uber illusive/dismissive personality that youre giving them; when you hear a boat you think "oh some nubs took a boat let me go shoot it a few times with an m16 and totally destroy a squad."

And its not like you can hide, youre driving down a fucking river. If i can hear you, i can either assume where you are or where you will be going.

Boats should have a low speed quieter mode. Something like holding down shift.
They are so loud on my headphones I can hear them from halfway around the map.

not when everybody is 'mobbing' flags, half the time, no one defends, yeh sure if you attack a prominent flag in one then you will die.

what im talking about is using it to bypass all the other players go round the back of the enemies flags and destroy every enemy asset/spawn you find.

using boats to arrive at a battle = stupid.
using boats to bypass a battle and screw over enemy = win.

Yeh, but arguably you could say the same thing with any vehicle. If nobody is paying attention it really doesn't matter what vehicle you use.
Now if it were a speed boat or it was silent it'd have some advantage. With speeds being what they are I'll just take an APC or foot it FTW .

I love those boats - but I only find them useful or worthile in some maps - not all maps. They are too weak and defenseless really and its scary carrying a squad of 6 in one boat. One mod I'd like the boat to get is to lower its engine volume to only about 1/3 of what it is now. Its overly loud and the one thing it has going for it is stealth.

it would rock if it was quieter, more posibilities available

I remember one time I was walking by a river when I heard a boat coming up; I had a support kit so I waited till they got about 70 meters away and opened up.
The boat was totally full and it killed everyone on it
