harsh but fair
How can someone be a pilot and not be able to request the pilot kit?
j/k

When jumping from planes, there is barely any time to jump before the explodes in mid air.

If you jump theres a high chance of getting killed by the chopper/plane, and when you jump out a burning vehicle you are injured, so basically you die in the parachute if you even open it.

I usually go down with the ship......sorry, plane!

Can't the Commander be given the authority to issue the kit? Wouldn't that offer a measure of control is the person elected to command helps meter out pilot/crew kits and thus doesnt give them to every schmoe noob that comes down the pike who doesnt feel like walking to the objective?

I apologize in advance for my ignorance on the subject, i've only recently even become a vanilla noob, let alone a PR convert, but all good things in time!

No, because then the commander will only give it to his "friends".

Well, cut someones points by -50, if he crashes on purpose, like fliping the Littlebird over or trying to take off the BH before it warms up, only to tilt on the nose and crash..

And since he'll have a negative score (if he crashes a lot, cos hes dumb) server will kick him, or an admin, cos they'll think hes TKing...and he is doing that in a sort of way..

If you were a pilot in real life, you clearly wouldn't engage them. Why would you on the game? You'd only get killed without doing much damage to that squad, meaning that you've gotta wait to respawn, then get the pilot kit, then wait for the plane to respawn, whilst the enemy have capped your flag and moved on. The way he did it, he had a (slim) chance of getting back in the plane before they've capped it, in which case he can then give 'em a taste of his cannon.

Anywany, I think that commander should be able to STOP people from getting the pilot kit if they are clearly n00bs. He can't choose who is a pilot, but he can stop noobs from killing off half his team time and time again.

You can't give one person that kind of authority, because it can lead to problems. Good luck doing anything if the commander has a personal grudge against you for whatever unrelated reason.

any good pilot knows when he is about to crash, he has about 4 seconds to react. thats plenty to eject, with about a 30% chance of survival depending on your speed and direction.
alot of times the chopper explodes in mid air before you get the chute open, thats why it depends on your direction and speed.

meh, I dunno what sort of squads you play in, but if someone killes one of my boys he doesn't get too far.

Once time in Steel Thunder I once again was downed over an enemy base after killing some enemy armor. I forced a controlled crash and snuck into the headquarters. I killed two enemy PLA infantry, took one of their overpowered rifles and attacked the armor div from the rear, killing a whole squad and the RP. I then went back to base after capping the flag, got a pilot kit and continued destroying tanks.

Pop quiz: How many pilots does it take to murder a squad of infantry?

Anyways, to respond to the original post, ejecting and exfil is easy and a frankly don't understand what the real question is. If you manage to eject unnoticed you have a tremendous tactical advantage. Since theres only one of you, the possibility of being spotted is minimal.

i think all lives should be worth one ticket, plus what if the server has a lag spike, you won't stop like a tank, you'll fall like a brick. doesn't seem to fair.
plus the only time people notice the tickets is when the siren goes off.

really how many times have you heard someone say on voip "oh noes! we lost 12 tickets, now we only have 250!!!"

yeah it would be cool you know you flying a jet suddenly youre starting to hear warning youre jumping of the jet with the parchute landing behind enemy territory in the mean while youre hiding somewhere with your m4 carbine(i hope pilots will have it cause thats what they have in real lives i think)
your calling in the radio(voip or typing) for extraction and giving the coordinates of your self being and for the time extraction teams are coming your trying to survive

IRl you cannot Safly Escape from a helicopter (Except a Ka-50 or 52) you have got to ride it down and pray its a soft Landing. In a Aircraft (except Large Ones Such as C-130) The Ejection Seat is a Almost Instent and even ejecting from Ground level will Make you Safe. If i Am Shot down in a Aircraft i Will Eject but i will do a HALO (High Altitude Low Opening) and will try to call for a Rescue if not i Chug it back Home.

On the Thread Though the Devs already probably have a Idea on what to do to prevent Vanilla 1337 Nubs from Getting Kits and generally Ruining everyones Game

The thread's more to do with the concept of making the kit more valuable and making people feel the need to rescue a pilot so they can return to duty as opposed to stopping people £$$%ing about in aircraft.
