Also scatter some AKs around, when USMC/GB caps an Insurgent flag - idea would be, that they have found some insurgent weapons, they left there after being defeated by the USMC. And Ive heard, that Marines usually pick up AKs IRL, when fighting close quarters...
Sry, i was thinking 64 man team lol. I still think maybe 15-20, some in concentrated areas, some elsewhere. Not even kits that have great advantages or are specifically better than the spawnable kits. Just stuff to represent real weapons caches and hides.

Special Forces can though.

They may not be "allowed", but Ive seen quite a few pics of US troops wielding non-issue weapons. And I'm sure that they are not all SF

The thing is, any old AK sitting in the corner of some dusty hut may be poorly maintained, resulting in unreliable operations (yeah, you still have to clean it even if it's an AK). Worse, they may be purposefully modified to explode in the user's face. I doubt that anyone is going to be picking up weapons in the middle of a firefight. That's just my speculation, though.

I think the Insurgents should be able to request bomb IED's, like the old artillery shells. They could request them from like allah or something, and it could be picked up and the shell could be placed whereever. Its probably hard but its fairly realistic since thats what they use for their IED's.

Well, they aren't supposed to.

You get issued a rifle, you are expected to use and take care of that rifle unless it becomes unusable. The US military takes that very seriously.

Any honorable soldier won't pick up an AK47 just because he wants to use a different gun, let's get real here, this isn't a video game.

The first picture may not even be a marine, he could be a green beret, or his rifle could be unusable. And the second one is probably as simple as marines showing off their war trophies after a firefight.

Does it happen? Sure. It's just not as common a practice as you seem to think. Let's just leave it at this, eh.

I say technical with a recoilless rifle, like in BHD.

I agree that they are used, but if you look in the bottom left of the second picture, they guy w/ the Ak w/ folding stock still has his M16/M203 on.

because the real insurgency(see iraq videos on liveleak to get an idea)doesn't have tanks and armored vehicles, i suggest change 'em for technicals and give the insurgency team more IED and RPG capacity, so the insurgents can make traps more easily. that's the real insurgency taste i guess :)
