M16, M16A1, M16A3 all have the Safe- Semi- Auto. Military found Full Auto rifles were useless as they tended to just be ammo wasters. The Army issued M4s are also 3 round burst as opposed to the M4A1 in game used by the USMC Spec Ops.

Well, I know a guy who served in iraq as a chaplain bodyguard. The chaplain was with the marines so he got to see how that branch of the army functions. He told me that most of the men in his unit modified their m16s to fire full-auto by cutting of the catch that stops the full auto at three shots. I dont know how many marines do this but i know the unit he was with did.
