The rocket motor doesn't kick in straight away but the launching charge is enough to keep it flying straight until it does.

We used a 60° angle on that weapon. It might warm your thighs a little :-) but its perfectly safe. I would imagine that using that position in your full gear is really hard and uncorfortable which might mean not so good accurasy.

According to this (pdf) RPG-7 can be fired from prone position. The manual also contains a description of how the two stage propulsion on the RPG round works.

It's a little (hehe) out of date, but still interesting.

Was just a matter of time when a thread like this showed up. What do you suggest, nerf it?

Damn, I don`t want this to turn into vBF2 where everything "noskill" was turned into complete bs.

Deviation... but it's impossible I think because it'd be like the running deviation (hard coded)

That reminds me: does the H-AT blow up right in front of you if you fire it from proned? I swear, I had the front over the ridge, with a clear view of the APC and it still exploded and killed me.

^^^Happened to me..and I had a clear view of the T90 on Ejod, plus, if I damaged that tank, the damn MEC sniper would pull out, instead he just kept pinning us down..well, we got him, when he ran to change position, thinking the tank will cover him...well, if he was on the right side of the tank ;)

Wait, did someone say that L-AT (i.e. the RPG) kit will be limited from 0.6 onwards?

Bah! That's really quite irritating. I love being the RPG-carrying one in a squad, and if I have to compete with other people (who obviously don't have the same passion for RPG-using as I do) for the kit, I'll be positively miffed.

Anyway, as to the main topic; the RPG, if you want to use it properly, needs a bit of skill. I wouldn't mind that "only fire from 90 degrees when proned" thingy (or even no prone-firings; I usually fire from crouched, it's better for quick mobility), in fact I would probably encourage it if it meant more time was taken with shots. I don't know how it would be coded though.

And as well as that, I think that to combat insta-prone-RPG-firings, making it so that prone has little effect on accuracy (it really shouldn't, since the rocket does most of the work) would be best.

Don't limit RPGs please.

why did you post that image wasteland?
lol, I was wondering the same thing. Those huge statues might cause lag and some balance issues.

The RPG-26 is a one shot, folding launcher where as the RPG-29 is a reuseable weapon like the RPG-7.

i thought you could fire a RPG while prone, your legs just had to be at a 45 degree angle from it.

i cant see how this would be implemented in game though,
LMAO. Well, when trying to explain the position I was talking about, the first thing that popped into my mind was "like a Reclining Buddha". I've seen dozens of those statues, but I doubt many people in North American and Europe have, so I figured I'd grab a pic. Then I figured, "why not just say 'laying on your side and firing perpendicular to your body'?"

But I'd already found that pic, and it was just so perfect. It really looked like he was holding an RPG. So I decided to include it anyway.

Make it so if you fire the RPG while moving or too quickly you blow yourself into the air with no harm done to your target.
