a greanade launcher even for riot control could shoot a granade shrapnel or HE if made to fint it and a nade launcher in the near future it is posible to have for the chin posible not as good but would not be hard for the army to get one to fit and use for the military. the halo that they use in the game is still only a proto type in the cnins military or not in full production. it like uting the RAH-66 Comanche in the game for the usmc.

As I said earlier in the thread, the "near-future" setting of BF2 may not always be in the mod.
There are anti-riot launchers that do not fit standard explosive or canister ammunition. Until we find sources to support that an underslung launcher capable of using standard anti-personnel or dual-purpose ammunition is in service with the PLA, we will not include such a weapon for them in later versions of the mod. Not every force will have all equivalent weapons of the same type. If we cannot find a UGL for the PLA, we will find appropriate rifle grenades for them.
The Comanche has been cancelled for almost two years and was an Army program. USMC will not be the only representation of US forces in the game and will get authentic vehicles and equipment in the mod; for example, they do not use F-15s, Bradley Linebackers or Blackhawks (USMC only uses them for presidential/VIP transport).

MEC does not equal Iraq.

Sinodefence.com has been one of our sources for a while and is a great resource. Glad you're looking for things to suggest, though.
Wonder wrote:MEC does not equal Iraq.
That's true, but Syria and Yemen do have quite a few Hinds and they are widely proliferated outside the Middle East, as well. A later Hind variant would make more sense for the "MEC" than a helicopter that Russia has not yet fielded or even put into a low rate of production. Once again, the fictitious MEC may not always be one of the opposing forces.

aahh. i really want to see the MEC axed. they should be insurgents with potent IEDs and lots and lots of RPGs and AKs and a few stingers to even it out with the allied air power. or make them iran or syria or both but be sure to make a difference between the two... i can see them maybe being allies but i dont think theyd have all the same weapons. in creating an MEC EA/DICE made the same mistake they did with BF'42 in giving the american/british side and the german/japonese side the same weapons.... i dont think alot of alliances work that way... aside from perhaps standardizing ammo.

Make the MEC Iran.
Cant see how Utilisizing Iraqi Insurgents could work. Unless The get 20 minutes prepartity time before each match to burry those 155mm shells to use as IED.s

I would like to see MEC more defined, but definately not insurgents becuz they arent a military force.

There are tons of possibilities if the area of conflict is to stay in the middle - far East. On the Southern border with China we have Vietnam and Cambodia, to the Eastern Border Korea ( and lets face it relations are strained at best with Korea right now ) they would make an excellent addition to the Axis forces. To the west we have all the Stan's ( Afghana - Kazak - Taj - Kyrgz, a little further west you also have the Iranians, not to mention possible coalition support ( depending on current relationships ) in India and Pakistan. What I find most amusing about the original BF2 is that the Middle Eastern Coalition don't actually know who's really involved in this so called coalition.

No idea what your on about mate. But what ideas for the MEC do people have besides either a Syrian/jordanian coalition or Iran?
A radical option of course would be to make them Russian.

Does it have to be of middle east origin, that is do they have to come from the area surrounding the current scenario, or are we talking about something completely different. I thought I read somewhere else that it is possible the MEC may not even feature in future versions of PR. Personaly I would like to see the Koreans make an appearance or as suggested the Russians brought in as an independent force. Alternatively we could opt for an African nation, Somalia, Uganda something along those lines, expanding the current scenario to include outbreaks of violence and dissention in the African nations.

I'd like to see an Mi-2 in BF2 just for the comedy value! They're great choppers though, so great even the US Presidents "Marine One" use them! Never thought I'd see the day when an American President would use an old Soviet chopper. Anyway they could be given to the Chinese as a balance against the Gazelle and Littlebird (although they're only generally lightly armed with some rockets... well that's light by Russian standards).

The Mi-2 "Hoplite" has never been in service with USMC HMX-1. What do you base your statement on?

Not every vehicle will have an exact equivalent on each team. For the light attack / scout role, China uses a different helicopter; according to my sources, the Mi-2 hasn't been or is no longer in its inventory.

How about a friend of mine (who is well up on military stuff so he won't be wrong) actually seeing him land in one in Chicago a year or so ago?

Today the "First and Finest" Marine helicopter squadron in the Corps has grown to employ more than 700 personnel. The squadron has four different aircraft. The CH-53E Super Stallion, the CH-46E Sea Knight, the VH-3D Sea King and the VH-60N Whitehawk.
