I notice that even without the full out of control system for choppers, taking some damage will screw your controls up royal! You shake uncontrollably and start spinning a little which makes it almost impossible to aim so you must retreat. I had a BHD scenario on Al Barash where the chopper was forced to land after taking too much damage to fly back to base, some guys charged in with a hummer and blasted the approaching hostiles and then sped off with the pilot. They chased after in a tech but manage to lose them in the streets near facility but then they were ambushed by an rpg as they left the city area, no survivors.

Recently playing Greasy Mullet.. i was USMC had the LB gunship.

I buzzed over an enemy tank, at about 150m altitude, maybe a wee bit higher, i was totally undamaged up to this point. The .50 cal gunner on the tank opens up on me...and after only taking 2 or 3 bullets i lost ALL power. Still had flight controls. I actually thought my keyboard was playing up.
I ended up in a very rapid descent and to my total amazement i did not blow upon my very hard landing.
I ended up walking to an engineer and walking him back to my LB, he repaired it and i flew him home :)

The problem is often you take too much damage and just end up blow up mid air, and therefore you dont notice the damage systems. I'm always limping home in the Cobra with no 'steering' as it were.

It's a pain when the cobra's hit in the tail. Having to fly the approach with no tail rotor input can be a *****.

'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino']It works online too last time i tested it.
It does.
Try taking one too many AAA rounds in a LB and watch how you either lose control of some gears(like your peddles or collective) or just start dropping out of the sky all together.

Yeah, at least that damage model we added in 0.5. We were trying to get the spin effect working, but we couldn't yet.
