Isn't the Blackhawk's load about 13 passangers + crew (Not sure how many that is), and also, i really wouldn't want to ride in a blackhawk with any more than 10 people in one, iv rode in them before and they have a good bit of room but not a awful lot.

I just had the craziest, stupidest idea ever... remodel the parachute to look like a fast rope? If you think about it, the parachute in 'nilla is used just like a fast rope would be used. Devs have probably thought about it already, though.

EDIT: and getting the length correct would be impossible... and then it would move with the fast roper, instead of staying at the start point.. still, with enough time wasted on it it could be possible.

how about giving blackhawks the ability to "beam down" troops.

"squad 3, secure the crossroads, spok, when your landing party hits the ground cap the facility and then set up an RP"

(or seahawk if you like)
still possible. The service ceiling is like 19 000 feet, which should be more than enough for parachuting.

I really want to see the passenger area thing, too, much more realistic than suddenly appearing inside a helicopter.
Like the Merlin?

Ok, actually I'm not an expert in military strategies, or how you ever wanna call it, and I didn't know that there are no parachute operations out a helicopter.
But my idea (as I wrote in the poste) wasn't a parachute spawnpoint or a parachute kit (I've read the "Already suggested Thread).
In response to Outlawz, the OP's idea was having an actual player controlled paradrop operation, with real pilots flying actual planes, not just some paratroop spawn point as seen in Airport.
If the idea is unrealistic according to modern military strategies, I'm taking it back, but I can't imagine that there aren't such operations nowadays.

I don't think so.
But the problem with the merlin is that staying there in the "passenger area" usually gets you killed.

And how many people can fit inside it at the same time?
nah, getting stuck to walls would be the main cause of death. (don't know how to explain it, it's an engine bug I think, go check it out :p )
And you could probably fit almost the whole team in it if you wanted to.

For maps like airport, what about having a stationary C-130 static (with props turning) at around 600 meters or so so that the ground isn't visible (nor it from the ground) and you would get the illusion you are moving. One spawns inside the C-130 and jumps off the back to parachute down.

Probably worth its own thread right there.
