I have a 128 card and 1g of RAM and I can play al basrah OK w/ some occasional really bad freezes.
I look foward to the optimized Al basrah map because you guys are wizards and the first release of Al basrah was very tough to play so I'm hoping the new one will be the same level of improvement.

Yeah i had some bad freezing on basrah before i got a 640mb video card. Up to 20 seconds of frozen on my 256mb one.

I wish I could afford a 8800 GTS. I'm stuck with a 128mb ATI X300.

I hear ya man, I got ATI X300 too. On Ghost Train or Al Basarah I sometimes stutter to the point where I could barely move the mouse
Could the DEVs make an ultra low option? like really blan and undetailed textures or extreme low end lighting? So lower level systems could play the game?
My Ghetto Rig:
3.0 GHZ P4
512 RAM (LOL, I know)
128 ATI X300
integrated sound (LOLx2!!)

I have an 8800 gts(640mb) 1.5gigs ram e6600cpu on xp pro sp2, and I get quite a lot of lag(freeze for a second or 2) if I spawn as U.S. May be the ram letting me down I dunno.
Mind you it's been a few years since I last re-installed my pc.

You guys have some dodgy hardware...Seriously.
6600gt AGP8x
2 Gigs
IP4 3.2 (2005)
Settings on medium, geometry, effects, view and terrain on High. Albasrah 50 fps, no lag at the start. oh yeah forgot, 1280x1024
I don't get you guys, you buy your stuff from a unmarked white van in some alleyway?

No, my computer was not bought by me and was bought years ago....
I also run terrain/geometry/textures/view distance on high.

Same all high with a 1600X1200 res +8XAA
Hmm maybe that doesn't help the lag problems

lol
sure does look nice and it only seems to struggle a little on albasrah

RAM can be cheap as hell.

'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino']With the tweaks we are doing at the mo to basrah it should be alot less laggy in the new version
We will see in the open beta if we need to turn down the view distance (since duckhunt insists on increaseing it...)
SWEET!

I run all medium with texfilt. high and geometries high with 12xxX1078 with smooth gameplay except a little stutter on Basrah.
7600GT 256mb
1 gig ram
AMD 64x2
My key...Don't put a bunch of SH** on my computer. All I have is 3 games (including PR), microsoft office, xfire and napster. Very fast

He was happy at 550 or whatever. I was going for 750 or higher, i know the limitations better than anybody considering i did so much LoD testing.

In America yes. In China...no...

(how much is a gig in US?)
But yeah, please consider the people with less pimped out machines when tweaking v.06 DEVs, it would be greatly appreciated

seriously though guys youd be suprised hwo much lag the coders have "taken out" of PR....i see what these guys do behind the scenes and this stuff is about as optimized as it can get... what we are really doing here is trying to push BF2 as far as it will go...
TBH...you all gotta get a little more ram at least if you dont have 2gigs..
upgrade the video card if you havent already (yes..you may have to get a job..hehe)
